I was diagnosed with a melanoma from another office and was referred to a Plastic Surgeon, he wanted to do a skin graft and I was not interested in having a skin graft. I tried unsuccessfully calling previous dermatologist but ended up playing phone tag. So, I called CallaDerm, I explained my situation and they agreed to see me on Friday with their Nurse Practitioner. After the agreed appointment I received a phone message stating my appointment was move to the following Monday due to CallaDerm having a cancellation and without my consent. I work in a busy dental office and have scheduled patients which I need to make arrangements to take off from work and could not make a Monday appointment at the last minute notice. After my appointment was canceled by CallaDerm I was able to get in at PH7 Dermatologist in Boones Creek for a second opinion, to discuss if the skin graft was necessary or if I could have the Mohs surgery to remove the melanoma cancerous area. PH7 referred me back… to CallaDerm for the Mohs surgery which I agreed because I was already a patient since 2015. After agreeing to see me as a patient and requesting my records faxed to them, I was told CallaDerm would not do my surgery. I talked to the office manager and she told me they would not do the surgery because I went to another dermatologist. I explained it was to get a second opinion. CallaDerm not only denied me treatment and I was told by CallaDerm office manager I was dropped as a patient. This has left me without a doctor at a critical time and has delayed my treatment in finding a doctor. CallaDerm agreed to see me knowing that I had been to another office, it wasn’t until I could not come in and fill their cancellation that my going to another office became a problem. I view this as unethical behavior due to the fact my records were requested! I have not gone to other offices trying to get drugs nor do I owe money to CallaDerm. I am simply a patient in need of treatment for melanoma trying to get the care I need and treatment that is best for me. Now I am a emotional wreck, still trying to get treatment for skin cancer.

While completely undressed in exam room, the room was invaded by an unknown male who continued into the room despite my protests. He later claimed to be the 'office manager.' The clerk who escorted me to the exam room was apparently distraught because I didn't blindly follow office procedures regarding discussing my medications. I was not seen by the doctor and this 'office manager' who shares a last name with the doctor, called the police.

Dr Reaves is truly wonderful! She spends time with you and actually listens to what you have to say. The staff is very friendly also. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Reaves and her staff are wonderful. They truly care about the patient and what their concerns are. They listen and explain things well and then follow up with you to make sure you are ok after procedures. I wish all doctors did this.

She is very compassionate and welcomes questions. I was very impressed with her.
