Dr. Janice F. Eakle, MD

My mother waited for over 1 month to see Dr. Eakle. She was a transfer patient from the Naples office. She was very nervous about the visit as her Dr. in the Naples office wanted her to get a bone marrow biopsy. When Dr. Eakle entered the room, she proceeded to tell us that my mother's bloodwork suggested no need for biopsy. My mother had many serious symptoms that were presented to Dr. Eakle. Her response- She needs to see her primary dr. Dr. Eakle spent no more than 10 minute with my mother. My mother passed away on Nov. 16th.

Dr. Eakle’s office on Cattlemen is way too busy. I just recently went thru cancer treatment, chemo/ radiation for 6 weeks. I had problems with scheduling, treatment, the ability to speak to the doc, and rudeness from staff. This has been my 4th bout of cancer, so I know what to expect. I would NOT recommend this group.

1)Waited for more then an hour to meet with Dr. Eakle. 2) Meeting with her was a demoralizing experience. Surgery and radiation did not arrest my mother's cancer, so she is trying an alternative treatment. When Dr. Eakle was told about this she looked at my 86 year old mother and said, "Obviously It is not working". Even if she doesn't ascribe to alternative treatments, it would have been better for her to say nothing at all, or even better, as another doctor said to my mother, "hope is good". Her response was unnecessary and unkind.

Dr. Eakle is compassionate, intelligent and genuine is talking about cancer in general. I being a patient knows how it feels to fight this disease but her manner in explaining her diagnosis is truly exceptional. She takes the time to address and of my concerns and is a good listener. Dr. Eakle was recommended by my Primary Physician and I couldn't be happier with his recommendation. She is truly one of the best!!

I was very scared and didn't know what was going on. Dr E told me everything and went through choices for treatment. We discussed everything and planned the treatment that was best for me. I would recommend her to anyone and any person who says awful things about her is clearly a lunatic.

I met Dr Eakle at the recommendation of my surgeon. Of course she is pleasant and efficient but what impressed me most is her knowledge. She took time to answer every question I had.

Seems to do her job by the book without keeping patients informed of choices and pros and cons of treatment. Did not refer patient to hospice when it was obvious that was what was needed and so family had to get that taken care of without assistance from Dr. Eakle. Also didn't keep patient/family apprised of condition - it seemed her only job was to make sure chemo was constantly given even after it obviously wasn't working and was causing harm to patient. When patient was hospitalized for over a week, not one visit from Dr. Eakle who was primary doctor.

Dr Eakle is so knowledgable and caring. Her staff immediately put me at ease and I could tell that everyone there really cared about me and wanted me to get better. I recommend Dr Eakle to anyone with cancer.
