Jasmine Taylor, M.D. became the Associate Vice Chancellor for Multicultural Affairs for the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2004. Dr. Taylor dually serves as the Associate Dean for Multicultural Affairs for the School of Medicine. Dr. Taylor, a board certified psychiatrist, is the institutional leader for diversity and inclusion, and is director for the division of multicultural affairs. She serves as attending in the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, and serves on several institutional committees including the admissions committees for both the School of Medicine and the School of Dentistry. Dr. Taylor also chairs the Multicultural Enhancement Committee, the Institutional Diversity Committee, and co-chairs the Diversity Advisory Committee. Dr. Jasmine P. Taylor is recognized by colleagues and students for her contributions in diversifying the health profession, her leadership in advancing the academic career development of underrepresented students and for her diversity/inclusion efforts. She has received several awards for her leadership, mentorship and public service from organizations such as the Mississippi Business Journal-50 Outstanding Business Women, the Board of Trustees of the State Institutions of Higher Learning, and the American Medical Association.
