Dr. Jay B Patel, DO

He will refuse to refill your prescription multiple times without any communication as to why. I guess he relies on his nurses to do his job but the nurses hardly call back either, I had to find out from my pharmacy after 3 weeks of no meds (now 1 month and 1 week) He'll push unnecessary medicine on you that doesn't pertain to you at all, he'll get very upset with you if you don't do what he told you to do. He is terrible with mental health and only seems to care about physical health. His bedside manners are non existent, he is short with you, refuses to listen to any concerns you have because he's too focused on something else, as if 2 things happening in your body can't happen at once. Overall, he simply doesn't care. I'm amazed he's allowed to practice. For your physical and mental health, don't rely on him. You'll be disappointed. Just go to saint Luke's 10 minutes away and you'll be taken care of much better there.

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother. She has gone to this doctor numerous times. Please seek out another medical professional. These are the following complaints: 1. He appears to have no empathy. 2. His listening skills are very poor or nonexistent. 3. He is very impatient. He will walk out of the room in visible frustration. This has happened on two several occasions. 4. He isn't inclined to write prescriptions and will encourage you to use OTC options. Do not waste your copay. 5. He makes you feel like your appointment is a waste of time. In summary, I would love to give him zero stars but that is not an option.

Do yourself a favor and pick ANY other doctor. This scam artist will require you to pay for an office visit just to get your prescriptions(from him) transferred to home delivery. I guess he needs more office visit money from your insurance to keep the lights on, just guessing. He also changed all my wife's prescriptions and then moved offices so now we are dealing with trying to get that straightened out. Best to avoid this clown and find a real MD.

My husband and I were new patients of Dr. Patel. When we verbalized our choices regarding resuscitation status we felt judged by Dr. Patel. Although he is a smart man it is not his place to try and change our minds regarding our end of life choices. We have since switched doctors in the HCA system and are very pleased with our new care provider.

Dr. Patel is an amazing physician with the best bedside manner ever. He is super personable which makes things a lot easier. When Dr. Patel left his clinic in Lees Summit to go to Liberty, I followed behind him. He's just that good of a doctor. Not many doctors ask about how your kids are doing unless they treat your kids. Not Dr. Patel! He's always seeing how I'm doing and how many family is doing. I've even gotten a phone call from him to check up on me before. I also needed emergency hydration once while my spouse was having a baby. Instead of waiting in the ED for treatment, Patel walked down to an infusion clinic and made sure they could get me in quickly so I could get back to my spouse having a baby. Tell me that's not great patient experience! This man is the best doctor I've had.

Dr Patel actually listens to you. Looks you in the eye and talks to you. I plan to follow him to wherever he practices as it has taken me 15 years to find another doctor who actually cares & listens to you.

I have been to Dr. Patel for several months. He truly cares about his patients. He listens to you and then works through your issues. Compassion has left our healthcare community, but not with Dr. Patel.

Best doctor I have ever had. He really does want to help you. He listens and has fantastic bedside manner. My family will miss having him as our doctor (we moved states)

On my only day off I had to get a work related letter stating I was healthy enough to work. We stated this at the time of making the appointment. Appointment made. Arrived on time. was taken back within 15 minutes, vitals checked. 30 minutes later He finally arrives and then when told the reason for appointment focuses on other issues instead of a work release note. This results in not being able to accomplish all the things I needed to on my day off. Lack of sensitivity to the time of patients is what I take from this.

Run from this man !
