Dr. Abitbol received his medical degree from the University of Ottawa and his undergraduate degree in biology from Loyola College, Concordia University in Montreal. He served an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at McGill University in Montreal and a fellowship in spine surgery at Mt. Sinai and Toronto General Hospital. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Canadian Royal College of Surgeons-Orthopaedics, Dr. Abitbol has over 10 years of experience in orthopaedic surgery. He serves on the board of directors for the North American Spine Society and is a member of the Cervical Spine Research Society and the Federation of Spine Association.

Unethical conduct began when he stated I needed to have fusion of vertebrae to eliminate nerve damage in neck to head causing occipital neuralgia, did not document it in records to ensure Workers Compensation would not have to pay for my injury. Delayed care 21 days to transcribe medical visit between offices. Resulted in Physical Therapy visits being stopped, Ent specialist being denied, and Orthopedic pillow not ordered. Cancelled Televisit without notification because Workers Compensation stopped paying him. Charged for EDD Disability continuation care forms, then denied it on the second one after he abandoned me from receiving care, effectively ending monies from State disability payments, as well as refusing to do paperwork to get temporary disability from Sedgwick so I could survive financially. All patients should avoid this unethical doctor for your own physical, financial, and mental well being.

Been getting my back treated by Dr. Abitbol the last several months and has vastly improved my back. Would recommend Dr. Abitbol as he's one of the best in the area.
