Dr. Jeffrey Scott Cohen, MD

Dr Cohen has been by my side for 26+ years. He's been with me through several surgeries, hospital stays, and just overall care! I met him the night before I had emergency surgery 26 years ago. I thank GOD for putting him in my path. The gratitude my family, friends, and I have for him can not be put into words. He's knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and so very kind. He surpasses 5 stars!

All I can say is Beware....Please do your in-depth research and then decide for yourself. I am really paying for my lack of research. Please don't make the.same mistake I did or you just may end up paying with your life. I was told by the doctor that I needed a colonoscopy although I was not due for 7 years. This was not my regular doctor but had performed some rubber band hemorrhoid treatments over the years. I had diverticulosis and he told me I had to have a colonoscopy. I mentioned that I had been cleared for 7 more years from my gastroenterologist. I presented him with those records as well as a recent CT Scan of the pelvic and abdomen region. He insisted I need the new one. I had it because I was not totally aware of how disastrous a colonoscopy could be. I woke up in severe pain in my abdomen and shoulder in his clinic. The nurse said that was normal and sent me home The pain continued for six hours, during which I had chills, fever and constant pain. I called two more times saying that I had had these procedures before and had NEVER felt like this. Finally the doctor came on line and sent me to the ER 20 miles away. I had a punctured colon wall. Now note I had NO POLYPS OR CANCER. … The doctor only took time to tell my husband in a two minute phone conversation that information but not enough time to actually see me in person. After undergoing a CT scan at the ER I had to undergo a surgery on my colon. There followed a removal of my sigmoid colon but fortunately no colostomy bag. I have heard several people mention that he works too fast and is overzealous. I am almost 5 months out and he has not actually examined me yet. I have turned over my treatment to my ongoing gastroenterologist from Piedmont and will NEVER leave him again. Be sure and check the records of every physician you have. Never ever think that a procedure is routine. My life has been altered forever. Now note that the doctor admits no wrongdoing and states that my diverticulosis was evidence of my "poor" health. I worked out every day and played A level tennis, play golf, bike, run, yoga every known exercise. My 96 year old aunt lives with diverticulosis daily, is in excellent health and has all of her colon. This doctor needs to have his "routine" procedures examined. THE ONLY REASON I PUT IN ONE STAR IS THAT IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SUBMIT WITHOUT A REVIEW STAR.

Dr. Cohen's professionalism and easily apparent tremendous fund of knowledge makes it easy to trust him and know you are in the best of hands. During my first colonoscopy he found a benign but very large cyst that was blocking 1/3 of my colon and required removal of part of my colon. As he warned me, recovery was not easy, but I did not require a colostomy bag, which was fabulous news. I've had regular colonoscopies since then with no issues. He has tremendous energy and is absolutely dedicated to his patients. When he has patients in the hospital, he visits every day at 6:00 A.M.!!

How many patients have either had their colon nicked by him or DIED after he did surgery???? Several I personally know of!!!

Dr. Cohen is amazing at what he does! He did my colon resection and I couldn't have been happier with him. Others have given him a poor review bc he doesn't spend time with them. First and foremost the man is a surgeon and is busier than most people realize! When you are a surgeon your whole life is consumed by your patients! He gave me his personal cell number and told me to call him at any time with questions or concerns. Come on folks; if that is not dedication I don't know what is! I would highly recommend Dr Cohen because it's pretty simple...HE IS THE BEST AT WHAT HE DOES!

Where can I start! I went to him years ago and he was so casual, he literally sat on the patient table with his legs crossed. I should have known then. However, I will say this....too hurried, and certainly not thorough. Cattle comes to mind.

Absolutely amazing doctor. After years of other dr guessing what was wrong one visit and Cohen knew what was wrong. He had to remove colon and kept me from having a bag. His bedside manner is up and above any other. He cares about his patients and is there whenever he is called.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Jeffrey Cohen. I was billed for services not rendered. I was not provided with informed consent regarding the procedure and it resulted in an unexpected high out of pocket expense. Neither staff nor Dr. Cohen were helpful and the treatment was not beneficial. Hundreds of dollars were spent with no results. Just a money hungry practice without even a hint of patient satisfaction as a focus. Go somewhere else.
