Dr. Joel L Young, MD

Dr. Joel Young is absolutely horrible. He is a rude person and extremely aloof. Very uncaring and unprofessional. We really needed help and he made our situation so much worse.

It has taken me over 3 years to rate Joel Young. I can't help reading his rather pathetic answers to negative reviews. He presents himself as a true professional when the "Dr" can not even remember, not even by looking at his laptop (the only thing he does) if you were tested or not by his sophisticated bipolar test. He mat work for kids and youngsters that are battling with mental disorders, but if you are an adult, expect to be treated by a guy who behaves as he had never left high school, no matter his titles, surrounded by a "team" of female therapists and front desk workers from whom this man just poorly reproduces his conception of a suburban patriarchy. Stay away from him.

Dr Young prescribed two drugs on my first visit of only 20 minutes, not even reading my 12 pages of intake forms.

"Be aware of the use of Physician Assistants instead of receiving care from an actual psychiatrist at this practice. My sibling was a patient at this practice and although he initially saw Dr. Young he was ultimately 're-assigned' to a PA. Keep in mind a PA is drastically less qualified as a health care provider and you and your insurance company do not pay less for receiving inferior care. My sibling was not well served by this care and ultimately lost his battle of bipolar disorder and I feel in part due to the lack of qualified care from this practice. Value yourself and make sure you are seeing a qualified psychiatrist."

I began seeing Dr. Young at a younger age after being diagnosed with ADHD. I was initially very intimidated by his demeanor, but as I grew older I soon realized it was him building patient strategies. He has helped me through numerous transitions and it's clear that he truly cares for his patients. His whole staff is incredibly personable and go above and beyond in keeping the patient experience consistent. I began working with Alexis a couple of years ago and she has been nothing short of outstanding. She is a very empathetic and detailed provider. During time I have seen her, she has made sure to keep my medications consistent by understanding the different changes in mood, especially ones related to life events, and never trying and prescribe medication based on a temporary feeling.

I have been a patient with RCBM for years now and I am extremely pleased with my service. I would like to shout out specifically Emma and Derek who go above and beyond in making sure I am taken care of and that my needs are met. They have been extremely professional and very helpful in my journey of wellness. I have also received amazing service with scheduling from everyone at the front desk, they are always pleasant and very helpful even when my schedule is hard to set appointments around or I forgot my appointment times and dates.

Aliya is amazing!! She is caring, friendly and makes me feel comfortable at every appointment. She takes time with her patients. She makes you feel welcome and cared for every time!!

Trust me, you need to go here!

I have been seeing Carol Rembor and Dr. O. For quite a while now. They are both very professional, very interested and have helped me immensely. I recommend them highly.

Throughout my life, I have been in many beahvioral health offices and facilities. None have provided a better experience all around than this practice/center. Aliyah is my prescriber and is outstanding! Aliyah has impeccable attention to detail, knowledge of natural treatment options for certain conditions, and is extremely personable. She is without a doubt the best person I've ever had prescribing me mental health medications. Above all, when I walk into Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine I feel safe and know that my care is in great hands.
