The doctor and all of the people I saw were wonderful. They explained everything clearly and I never felt rushed. The doctor decided that he was going to refer me to another surgeon who he thought would be better suited to my injuries, and went to great lengths to try to see if we could see her immediately since we had driven so far.

My family and I would like to express our deep appreciation to a wonderful, skillful surgeon and a kind person, Dr John Yu. I met him at Cedar’s after going through unsuccessful surgery somewhere else, my condition was very bleak and serious. Dr Yu, Dr Rudnick and their team immediately assessed situation and suggested another surgery. This time it was a great result! He saved my life and my family, friends and I are very grateful. Wanted to share this with patients, who are searching for a brain surgeon with brilliant skills and compassionate.

My wife had a large, but benign, meningioma discovered by a routine retina scan at the optometrist and subsequent MRI at a local ER that same night. The ER physician wanted to admit her immediately, but we declined and contacted Cedars-Sinai in the middle of the night. We were lucky enough to see Dr. Yu within 36 hours of the initial MRI, and he performed a craniotomy and successfully removed the tumor ONE WEEK after initial discovery. His experience and total mastery of his specialty was immediately evident on our first meeting, and his calm and confident demeanor helped ease our minds, as this was my wife's first surgery since her childhood tonsillectomy nearly 40 years earlier. Dr. Yu and the entire staff at Cedars-Sinai, from the surgical staff to the recovery nurses to the valet parking staff (!) were absolutely amazing and my wife made a swift and complete recovery. I grew up in a family full of medical professionals, department heads, and tenured medical educators and I can… confidently say that Dr. Yu is absolutely a world-class neurosurgeon, top top top marks all around. Thank you Dr. Yu for saving my wife's life in a hurry!

I would like to share my extraordinary experiences about Dr. John Yu and Cedars-Sinai’s Neurologists team. Last summer my both legs were numb, after MRI I was diagnosed spine tumor disease, it was mixed shock, anxious, even fear darkness in my life. I have visited and consulted with many doctors and hospitals. Still, I was very struggling what should I do? Surgery or not surgery, it’s a very risk surgery. The point is I have to find a very good Neurosurgeon! My daughter and I with hope coming to Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Yu has asked my situation very details. I was very moved when he was touching and checking my numb foot and legs by himself, because he was the first and the only neurosurgeon did by himself not by any assistant or intern! I knew immediately that Dr.Yu cares about patients. His knowledge and honesty made me believe that I am in a good hands, haven’t leave his office, my daughter and I already made our decision. Surgery for removed the tumor was very successful. I had read… reviews before that some doctor would never show up to visit patient after surgery, but Dr. Yu has visited me everyday, even a couple times a day after surgery, he cares about his patient. Six more months after surgery, my numbness are gone. I can do yoga, swimming, hiking, almost every activity like before! I am appreciate Dr. Yu for his outstanding surgery for me and his good heart, also thanks his team and Cedars-Sinai, all the nurses, technicians, receptionists. Dr Yu has been an incredible Neurosurgeon. While in his care he has removed two brain tumors. The procedures were successful and I couldn't be happier or more grateful to have him as my Neurosurgeon. He is skilled and personable and took the time to answer all my questions.

Dr. Yu saved my life. I had a brain hemorrhage and to the Emergency Department. Dr. Yu immediately was called and took me to the OR as soon as possible. I felt he was constantly monitoring me and on top of everything. He took time to speak with my wife, encouraged her, and kept her apprised of the developments. I was back to work within 2 weeks. I have made a full, quick recovery thanks to the extraordinary skill and expertise of Dr. Yu. I can't thank him enough for giving me my life back.
