Dr. Michel Babajanian, MD

I have a broken nose with a deviated septum. For 30 years I suffered from serious nasal congestion which seemed to get worse over the past few years. I thought it was an incurable problem because of my hay fever, what with all the plants and trees around my home. I was losing a lot of sleep. I would awake in the night unable to breathe and was forced to use my Neti Pot in the middle of the night, along with two different sprays which offered scant relief. A top doctor at Cedars Sinai said my nasal airways were 70% blocked but that there was nothing that could be done to help me. Then finally, I went to see Dr. Babajanian, a kindly professional with an excellent reputation. He said he could help by reducing the size of my turbinates (the hydrating bulges inside my nose which were swollen) and by straightening the septum of my broken nose so as to provide a larger airway. Three weeks ago, I had surgery. It took just 90 minutes at an outpatient center in Beverly Hills. I was home… before lunch. I felt no pain either during or after the procedure. I was uncomfortable for one week after because he had placed tiny splints inside my nose to guide the healing of my straightened septum. So it felt like a stuffy nose. Exactly one week after, he removed the splints painlessly. Suddenly, I could breathe better than I could ever remember. It was a dramatic difference. I can breathe with no difficulty. I am sleeping at night now instead of waking up and struggling with nasal sprays. I don't look any different. The work was all on the inside of my nose. This was not intended to straighten my nose cosmetically. The purpose was to let me breathe, and it worked spectacularly well. I have not used a nasal spray since my post-operative visit. I can breathe easily. I can sleep. It's amazing. And throughout the whole thing, Dr. Babajanian was attentive, extremely kind, and caring, and actually called me himself several times before and after surgery just to make sure I was okay and to make sure I was following post-operative instructions properly. He is a healer and one of the most admirable men I have met in medicine. On top of that, his highly professional office never made me wait or treated me disrespectfully, as had happened with two other doctors' offices at Cedars, where I had been made to feel like a faceless number on an assembly line where no help was forthcoming. When I make an appointment with Dr. Babajanian, his office makes sure I see him when scheduled; and if I call with a question, they answer and respond immediately. That was not the case with the doctors I had seen in the Cedars practices, who routinely kept me waiting for long periods, and then didn't help. I would not have taken so much time writing this if I were not so profoundly grateful for Dr. Babajanian's skill and help. I would say he is something of a miracle worker in my case. He is a first-class ENT doctor and a lovely man.

I have been a patient of Dr. Babajanian for close to 28 years. He is by far the most compassionate, caring and patient Doctor who has always exceeded any expectations and treated me as I was a family member. I have been taking my daughters to him any time needed for 23 years and they absolutely trust him and know he will take care of them. Making appointments have at all times been quick and the wait has always been under 10 minutes. He always had time to talk to me any time of the day, caring for my father who had a tracheotomy even took time out of his weekends and changed his trach and took time to call and support me and my parents for as long as I can remember....I along with every member of my family are truly blessed to have him as our doctor and now friend
