Dr. John Mills Talmadge, MD

Dr. Talmage saved my life many years ago. He helped me see my situation more clearly...Which wasn't always fun. I was in a Narcisstic relationship (though he never pegged it as that) with a man of local influence. He referred me to an excellent talk psychologist. All met me where I was at (partial denial) and strengthened my mind. Many thanks to this man.

A seemingly narcissistic man, with terrible bedside manner. Avoid if possible.

I spoke with Dr. Talmadge personally on the phone, and he advised me that my first step should be to see a provider who accepts my insurance (he does not deal with managed care). He said that many problems like anxiety and depression do not require going "out of network" and that he would be glad to see me if my managed care doctor could not solve the problem with me. I appreciated very much his calling me back himself and at no charge giving me good advice.

I found his website and worked up the courage to call after several weeks... Only to be told I have "garden variety depression" and to seek someone through my insurance. Discouraged and disappointed

Dr. Talmadge actually took the time to personally return my call and discuss my history and prior diagnosis within an hour of me leaving a message. We spoke for over 20 minutes. I actually feel confident about him, which is something that I have never felt with a psychiatrist before. Instead of having to wait the typical one month to see a psychiatrist, Dr. Talmadge was able to schedule time for me the very next day.
