Dr. John Joseph Wixted, MD

AWFUL NO COMMUNICATION OTHERTHAN TO YELL AT ME INSTEAD OF TRY TOSAVE MYLEG I SUFFERED FROM ACUTE COMPARTMENT SYNDROME ACS FOR 8HOURS WHENHECAME IN MY ROOM IGNORED ME BEGGING FOR HELP YELLED AND TOLD ME HE WOULD DENY CARE IF I YELLED AT HIS NURSES AGAIN AND I SAID I NEED HELP MY LEG WENT NUMB AFTER INSANE PAIN ,,,,HE TURNED AROUND WALKED AWAY IGNORING ME WHILE MY FLESH EAS DYING AND PERMANENT IRREVERSABLE DAMAGE TO MY NERVES AND LEG WERE SIMALTANOULY OCCURING AND GETTING WORSE LOOK UP ACS I WAS IN HIS CARE AND I DID NOT GET RUSHED DOWN TO SURGERY UNTIL 16 HR AFTER ONSET OF ACS HE ACTED AS IF I WAS FINE ONLY LOST 9 LBS OF FLESH AND SO!ME NERVE PAIN 6 MORE SURGERIES INCLUDING TAKING A FOOOTBAL SIZED CHUNK OF MY LEFTTHIGH MUTIPLE BONE GRAFTS LEAVING LOTS F SURGICAL CLIPS AND ME TO SUFFER UNTIL I COULD FINALLY FIND A GOOD ORTHO WILLIG T TO SEE ME AFTER HOW TERRIBY WIXTED DEFORMED ME 2 SETSOF PATES & SCREWS ALL INTERLOCKED AND IN CAVITYS WHERE CARTILEDGE SHUD BE 18 MONTHS STUCK IN BED… BEFORE THE INEVITBLE RIGHT LEG AMPUTATION WIXTED CAUSED BY NOT TREATNG MY ACS AND BOTH MY FIB & TIB WERE NON UNION HE SENT ME TO PT AND NEVER DID WEIGT BEARING X RAYS REFUED TO ORDER IMAGING DESPITE BEGGING HIM TO FOR MNTHS BC HE KNEW THAT THEY WOULD PROVE MAL PRACTICE

Excellent surgery. I am pain free after almost a year, and can walk with no issues

Was injured in a motorcycle accident and admitted into BIMDC. Upon evaluating my injury Dr. Wixted informed me that he was looking forward to my future amputation and his kids are going through college by motorcyclist that have had amputations. Beyond disgusting behavior and I am shocked or horrified That this man has a license to practice medicine.

I was treated for a tibular plateau fracture after I was struck by a car and Dr. Wixted provided excellent care and communication both in the Beth Israel ER and in follow-up care in his office. I was on the borderline for surgery based on my fracture, and he took the time to consider the decision carefully, and listen to my questions and concerns. I feel like I had the best care possible and I'm very happy with my outcome. I would recommend him and his practice highly.

A couple of years ago I was a patient of Dr. Wixted; he literally saved my foot and ankle. His whole staff was exceptional, obviously working for the best. I will be back in his office next week and even though I am in horrific pain, I know the Doctor will help in every way possible.

Have never felt so rushed in my life, Dr. Wixted didn't bother to ask if I had any questions, nor did he allow me to ask them during my follow-up after surgery. If you care and want to know about your surgery or condition, I would recommend another orthopedic surgeon. Also, I had to sleep in the hospital, and it was miserable. First of all, the nurses were extremely rude, and I felt like a nuisance at the hospital. I asked for something to eat, and was not given anything. In addition, I didn't see Dr. Wixted until TWO WEEKS after my surgery.

Extremely rushed and rude; regret having Dr. John Wixted do surgery.

I would not be walking today if it wasn't for Dr. Wixted. He treated me well from the very start of our relationship. He cares about his work, he cares about the out come of how he can help you. He doesn't forget about you and remembers right where you left off. A true sense of the word Gentlemen. The staff at UMASS are outstanding.

Jack and his staff are amazing. They put you at ease, don't rush you out and treat you like a human not a number
