Dr. Jon Wininger

Bad experience when I visited a couple years ago. I didn’t enjoy it.

I went to Dr. Winninger at least 10 years ago. The wait was long. When he examined me, he insisted on doing a biopsy to confirm I had psoriasis. I knew I had psoriasis, and didn’t need a biopsy. The only reason I went back was to get the stitches taken out. I was on my lunch hour, and waited two hours to be seen. He then wanted to do another procedure. I just walked out. I went to another doctor in my area, and have been clear of psoriasis for years

Had a Basil cell removed from my back. He had to do the surgery 2 times in 6 weeks because he didn't remove enough. 2nd time he did the surgery he didn't numb the area up enough. While cutting I told him it was hurting, he said he would numb the area again prior to stitching the 7 inch would he made for a 5 cm basil cell. He also ruptured 3 different arteries. I am in the office for my 2nd follow up post op because infection has set in as I write this. STAY AWAY if you need any sort of surgery. Good Luck!

The Doctor is very nice, not real assertive on diagnosing takes the safe road, (keeps you in limbo), the staff (nurse) is very dry, she rushes you through initial intake,Dr. comes in, leaves, nurse comes back in, Dr. Returns, very confusing set up. Nurse is outright dry she should not be doing this job. they also schedule appointments and hardly spend time with patient, but collect a full copay. This is even if lab work has not come in.

I was able to easily get an appointment with Dr. Wininger. They were able to accommodate me the same week I called. They also have evening appointments, which was great so I didn't have to take time off work to go. The wait is fairly long after your scheduled appointment time. On my first visit I was in the waiting room an hour after my appointment time. Once I went back to the exam room there were a number of extended waits between seeing the nurse, seeing the doctor, having my procedure, waiting for the nurse to come back, etc...On my follow up visit the wait was about 40 minutes so a little better than the first time. For the follow up the wait in the exam room was about 15 minutes to see the doctor. Dr. Wininger is kind and makes you feel comfortable. I did feel rushed during my first visit in which I had a "body check" for moles, he didn't have time to check a mole I forgot to show when the visit first started. It seems like they give numerous patients the same appointment time… and there is only one doctor and one nurse. They might want to rethink this as it affects the quality of the visit for everyone. While I was inquiring about how much longer it would take to go back to the exam room another patient came out of the exam room threatening to leave because he had already been in the waiting room and then the exam room for an extended period of time. Again, Dr. Wininger is a nice person but the logistics of appointment scheduling should be looked at.

Dr. Jon Wininger is the most unprofessional Dermatologist I have ever encountered. From the start Dr. Winninger was in a rush to end the consult. In addition, Dr. Jon Winninger miss-diagnosed my child. This was the worst experience ever and I would recommend that Dr. Jon Winninger contemplate about discontinuing practicing dermatology.
