Summary
I was born and raised in Long Beach. I attended Stanford University, earning a bachelor's in human biology and a master's in biology. My interest in medicine grew from the strong personal examples of my mother, a social worker, and my father, a general surgeon. After attending medical school in Chicago and surgical residency in Minneapolis (where I met and married my wife, a hospital administrator at the University of Minnesota Medical Center), we returned to Southern California, where I received my plastic surgical training at UCLA. After devoting an additional year to subspecialty training in pediatric plastic surgery at Children's Hospital in Seattle, my wife and I came to San Diego to raise a family, and where I began my career with Kaiser Permanente.
