I encountered Dr. Bornstein after having multiple issues with my stomach I have Crohn’s disease and had been visiting my GI doctors quite frequently because the pain had become unbearable.I was referred to him by The GI doctor and Dr Bornstein got right to the point and recommended it was best for me to have surgery to remove a portion of my colon. He made me feel secure in the decision and I feel the best that I have felt in a year. Tracelle P.

I would up with a Stoma he claimed would only be there 1-2 weeks.. As I type this 8 weeks later the stoma is still there and he refuses to do the surgery to reverse it. All tests run show I am cancer free. Ran a PET scan and he wouldn't even look at the results. He said he wasn't doing the reversal until I had completed 6 months of chemo. Normally procedure would be to look at the PET scan, see there is no cancer, and immediately do the reversal, then once healed do the 6 month chemo. But Mr. Know it ALL refuses to do the reversal even when every test screams it is ok to do the reversal now. He offered to give me a referral for someone else that would do the reversal, which of course my insurance will not pay for. He is the doctor of record and is who they pay. AVOID THIS GUY! He is terrible.

Just don’t. Touts that he’s an expert. A newly finished fellow is not an expert. He has multiple post op complications, infections, and redivision surgeries. No thanks.

He is a fantastic Doctor. He explained fully to my understanding what my procedure was going to involve. He went over and beyond to insure I was comfortable emotionally. He took extra time to also explain to my husband. Would recommend Him or His assistant Kristen any day to anyone.

how this person graduate from medical school- robotic and you could smell his narcissism

Very accurate, professional and courteous. Excellent in his field and much more specialized than the physician we used last year for this same issue.

After seeing this doc, did some research, seems trail of patients in NYC have complaints. Decided to seek more professional surgeon. Happy we did.
