Dr. Joseph Cass Pennington, MD

I was very pleased with Dr. Pennington he took the time to explain the procedure he would be doing how it is done and the risks that can come with it. I like to know what is going on and what to expect and I felt he was up front and honest. Besides that he also explained the history of how my problem has been addressed the past 30 yrs. or so. Very pleased.

He is the Greatest

Very pleasant and nice man to talk to, however did absolutely nothing in the span of several visits other than to have a tech take my blood pressure and pulse. And some times the tech seemed to have difficulties in doing so because they own no modern equipment and she's very old. Some of his staff isn't completely polite. They made an error on an appointment time, then she's so old she forgot she did this, then tried to blame me for being late when I came in even though it was her that moved the appointment. When I tried to explain this to her, she continued to insist it wasn't true. I had a recording of her leaving a message that proved I was right. This led to the wrong pulse sometimes being written. Not that it was important, but he just stands there. As the patient, you must be the one to take the lead and instruct him what to do. Then he may or may not agree, but often will just blindly agree with you. He does no other work, research or makes attempts to find the cause… of the problem etc. So if something serious were happening, he'd likely over look it. I suppose if you have a glaringly obvious problem, like you need immediate heart surgery, then perhaps he's ok for some. But I couldn't get anything useful from his services. I simply ended up having several hundred sucked out of my wallet even though my previous doctor (who retired), noted problems I had. He could have run EKG's, or done other tests but nothing. If what you like is someone who carries their golf bag in, chats with another golf buddy, and smiles pleasantly at you with a blank stare, then sends you to the front desk to pay is your thing, then Dr. Pennington is for you. Otherwise, I'd advise looking elsewhere. I suspect that at least a few of the other glowing reviews here are his family writing in. I also invite you to notice that not even his business number of fax numbers are correct. They don't even bother to update them. Huge red flag there.

Very well run office. Although my heart problems were minor, Dr. Pennington still spent a good amount of time explaining the condition and asking how I was doing. Even when I said I was fine-he still did a thorough check-up. If ever I had issues or a family member had heart issues I would not hestitate to send them to this office. In general - I'm very skeptical of most doctors at this point but this is one good competent doctor that I believe probably excels in his field.

Dr. Pennington is SUPER knowledgeable and was the first specialist out of several others that could pinpoint my abnormal heart rhythm. He is so caring and passionate about what he does. He performed an ablation for me with excellent outcomes and I have a very high level of trust for him. I wish he could be my doctor for everything!
