Dr. Josephine Filardo, MD

Dr. Filardo is an awesome doctor. She delivered 2 of my children and was great to deal with during labor. Great bedside manner. So caring and always makes me feels comfortable. Very knowledgible as well. I highly recommend her.

Refused to circumcise our son in the hospital after his birth claiming "there's not enough to do it". We later went to 3 pediatricians after leaving the hospital who all disagreed and said it should have been done. Bottom line...she was too busy to bother doing it. Stay away from her.

She is insensitive and made me cry.

Dr. Filardo was horrible. Maybe there are two doctors with the same name? I was present when she delivered my daughter and she was unbelievably nasty. She kept blaming my daughter for "not progressing" quickly enough - even saying "I've been waiting around for a whole hour..." She then fully prepped her for delivery without checking her dilation - dropping the table etc while my daughter cried in pain - only to realize she was only six centimeters. She then blamed my daughter for acting like she was ready to push. Then she demanded that my daughter get either an epidural or pitocin, because her cervix was "swelling because you've been bearing down!" Nonsense! She was in transition! But We finally acquiesced based on her diagnosis because my daughter was traumatized and fatigued. They prepped her for epidural but by then she was saying she needed to push. Again, she did not bother to check first. The anesthesiologist inserted the epidural just in time for it to not help one iota. I… wonder if any of this is grounds for malpractice suit. It should be.

Dr. Filardo is very friendly, compassionate and thorough in her exams. She makes me feel very comfortable each time I have an appointment.

Horrible bully, cold...wish I had known my rights when she threatened me into a c-section to cover up her mistakes and rush me through. She does not like pregnant women, that much I know! My experience with this one definitely warranted a malpractice lawsuit...if only I had known I had rights!!

Office staff is nice Dr. Keelan and Dr. Alexander are great. Dr. Filardo was diagnosing my condition without even examining me and told me I would need to go under General anesthesia to have my baby. No good general anesthesia can cause breathing problems in newborns. She did not know what she was talking about. had a I know it all attitude.

She stuck her whole hand INSIDE my client's uterus (I kid you not) after an un-medicated vaginal birth (so, no pain meds), to check her C section scar from NINE YEARS before, while my client kept telling her to take her hand out and stop. Which is, in the medical world, called battery, and is also performing a medical procedure without consent, which is illegal. She was completely unprofessional and lost her temper at my client, too.

I am new to the area and Dr. Filardo was recommened to me by a friend. Most women prefer a female GYN and I was very impressed with this Doctor. She took the time to really listen to you and I felt very comfortable immediately. She has the caring personality that lets you feel that you can discuss anything with her.
