Dr. Juan-Carlos Verdeja, MD

Dr. Verdeja is not my original by pass surfing but when admitted to So. Miami Hospital he was my attending surgeon, Dr. Verdeja and his team are absolutely wonderful. They are very attentive and compassionate. I wonder if He would be willing to take in cases from other surgeons. Highly recommend Dr. Verdeja.

Dr. Verdeja completed my hernia surgery in 2018 and left me with a damaged femoral nerve. I have no sensation in my leg and suffered tremendously from nerve pain for months after the procedure. Him and his staff offered no assistance to my situation and I ended up going for another opinion and still have medical reprecussions until this day because of his negligence. If you value your health I would not see him, horrible surgeon with no compassion for his patients.

Verdeja, porque no se puede llamar DOCTOR!!! Es un hombre que no sabe lo que hace....me hizo una cirugía de vesícula, y me provocó una Trombosis, en el ares operada!!! Por poco me muero!!!!! Por favor TENGAN CUIDADO CON ESTE HOMBRE....

Patient beware: This doctor treats your time with disrespect and will make you wait for hours. I went there twice, and I walked out each time because "his heighness" Verdeja didn't feel the need to even show up at his office in time. This guy will waste your time. Verdeja, learn how to manage a calendar! We are all just as busy as you are, and our time is at least as expensive as yours.

This doctor and his team were wonderful. They did a good job on my surgery. Definitely I recommend him as a surgeon.

Dr. Verdeja is a compassionate and excellent doctor. Had a great experience with gallbladder / hernia surgery I had put off for years out of anxiety and trying to save it myself. Eventually, the gallbladder attacks returned, frequently, and my quality of life was just shot. Dr. Verdeja's office hours are limited, but otherwise he himself is an amazing surgeon. He was correct in that I would be in a lot of pain the first day, and he appropriately arranged for me to stay in the hospital for observation and pain management. Took heavy pain and nausea meds in the hospital post surgery, and the day and night after surgery (first night home). After that, didn't need the rx at all. Hardest part of the surgery was the pain in the diaphragm, so if you have gallbladder surgery make sure you are up and walking, massaging the air out, as soon as you can balance. For me, it was about 12 hours after surgery before I could get up. I didn't want to talk to or see anybody before that. I… took meds the first night home, and after that didn't need another thing - except a LOT of bedrest (5 - 7 days minimum) - as I got wiped out easily. I have stairs at home, and was able to manage them, and made a point of walking around the neighborhood and park. My incisions are small and neat - sore 2 weeks after, but healing well. Follow up was hard to schedule because of office hours, but staff is kind and accommodating in follow through, scheduling, and paperwork. Office is immaculate, comfortable, and easy to get to. I highly recommend Dr. Verdeja not only because of his experience, but because he really is just a great person who will make you feel comfortable, without pressuring you. He care about his patients and it shows.

I recently was in the emergency room for my appendix. Dr Verdeja was my operating surgeon. I honestly want to find reasons to have more surgeries him. If I could use him as a primary care physician, I would go to see him all the time. AMAZING, PERSONABLE AND GETS THE JOB DONE. Highly recommended.

Excellent Surgeon and Staff !

He makes patients wait for hours. He think he is the best general doctor in town. He tells his staff that if patients want to see the best doctotr, they have to wait.
