Dr. Julie K Ford has the following 2 specialties
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

I met with Dr. Ford for a evaluation. I was so confused, when all was said and done. She refused to return my calls, emails for 2 months. She ignored my attorney as well. When she finally responded she stated she was suffering from headaches and but would complete my report as soon as possible. Another month passed I did not hear from her, until I asked for a refund, and told her I would be reporting her to the state. Very disappointed . She was very kind during the evaluation, but never followed up. Only text me apologizing, and stating that I did not deserve what happened to me. No referral to another doctor, or attempt to see how I was as a patient.

Dr Ford used to be a great doctor and I would trust her for with anything. But for the last 2 years she has turned in to a self centered, undependable, and unpredictable person. She let her office manager go without paying her for the last 12 weeks she worked. Her office manager would work any amount od hours or do anything she asked. She hasnt cared what has happened to her nor has she attempted to pay what she is owed. Yet she goes on buying whatever unessary things she pleases. As for her patients if they can get a hold of her makes appointments then she doesnt bother to show and leaves them hanging. Doesnt call just doesnt bother to show up. I dont reccomend this woman because she is self centered, uncaring, and doesnt care who's life she ruins along the way as long as she gets what she wants. She is everything a doctor shouldn't be

More about Dr. Julie K Ford
Care Philosophy: Her passion lies in obtaining information from patients to make a thorough diagnosis, then explaining this diagnosis while educating patients and collaborating with the patient to develop a workable treatment plan. She enjoys an eclectic approach to psychotherapy. Sometimes cognitive behavioral techniques are used, such as: prescribing a book to be read, or journaling and focused imagery, all with the goal of ultimately retraining one's thoughts and behaviors. Often, psychodynamic techniques are used, which consider the patient in terms of his/her important relationships: who is this patient's mother and what was the quality of that relationship like? Who is the father and how did he/does he continue to influence? What is the sibling hierarchy - oldest child? youngest? an only child? Who is this person married to? Who does this person work for? Who are this person's friends? From how these relationships work or fail to work, the patient develops insights and can tell where there are barriers to happiness, love, or abundance. The patient can then learn what needs to be done to remove or bypass these obstacles. Many times a medication or medications are prescribed. An antidepressant can improve one's mood, energy, appetite, sleep, sexual interest and overall outlook on life. An anxiolytic can help reduce and hopefully eliminate anxiety. A mood stabilizer can smooth out the rough edges of an unstable up-and-down mood. An antipsychotic can help clear up hallucinations and delusions, as well as work as an anti-anxiety medicine. Antipsychotics can sometimes even help with a stubborn and difficult depressive or bipolar episode. Her twenty years of experience as a psychiatrist helps her to know what to listen for and when and how to make an intervention - whether it be of word or medicine. Twenty years has also taught her the value of patience; this she attempts to pass on to her patients as, sometimes, a bit of time is required before psychiatric symptoms will lift.
