I broke my back in May. They say it’s stable and that is what it is supposed to be. But the nerve in my top right leg is so severe I can hardly walk. When I mentioned it they said oh that’s just something else and left it like that. Now I have back and nerve pain. They are supposed to set me up an mri . I’m still waiting for them to call.. btw I have yet to be seen by the doctor himself just his nurse practitioners which is a different one every time I go in. I desperately need some kind of relief immediately. I thought a neurologist specialized in nerves.. Am I wrong?

I'm 3 weeks post-op for C5,C6, adn C7 fusion. I feel better than I have in several years. Dr. Dowdy did a great job.

Felt like i was very rushed in & out. Didn't even go into a room to discuss what was going on with my back and when i asked questions got very short, hurried answers. Also didn't have all the information on me. Spent maybe 10 minutes with me including the time it took to give me a shot.

A single level fusion turned into 3 surgeries, multiple staph infection that spread to the bone, two long term IV antibiotic home infusions, loss of function of legs, indescribable pain, and all due to delay of care and negligence. Altered my life and my family's lives dramatically, not to mention the constant uncertainty..caring and compassion not their strong suit. I am terrified.

In 2017, I was given a botched surgery by this surgeon. Within days of my surgery all of my instruments fell out of place. The break in my back grew into a deformity. For 15 months after Dr Dowdy’s surgery I had to receive treatment for my bones. In 2018, I had a revision surgery to correct Dr. Dowdy’s botched surgery. By this time my vertebra had nearly collapsed, my break grew into a deformity, everything had to be removed that Dowdy did, surgeons had to cut into muscle to get rods out placed by Dowdy, and I was leaking spinal fluid. I have a 30 inch new scar from my new successful surgery. Which was NOT done by DOWDY. My revision surgery was done by several surgeons and took 8 hours. I trusted Dr Dowdy to do no harm. Instead, I lived a nightmare for 15 months after his surgery. Please do NOT use this doctor!!

I had a spinal fusion that ended with infection that went untreated form days. After multiple attempts to actually SEE THE SURGEON, I keep being referred to the nurse practitioner. No. Follow up and they act as if you are to blame. I didn't cut my back open......he did.
