Dr. Kathleen A. Hecksel, MD

Above and beyond as always. Even looked into testing I've asked for previously and her family doctor didn't do correctly as I asked!

Dr. Hecksel has been a part of our ongoing mental/emotional health needs for almost 8 years. We have children with special needs and she has ALWAYS treated them(and us) with the utmost care and concern. She relates to each child on their level(engaging them in conversation they are interested in) listens to all concerns, and offers options as to move forward with the best treatment. She has personally advocated for accedmic needs, consulted with therapists, and is always timely in a crisis. She cares about her patients and their families and it shows! I remember the first time we discussed some concerning behavior and she looked at our kiddo and said "this is a judgement free zone" and went on to make sure our child knew she was there to help! We consider ourselves fortunate that Dr. Hecksel is part of our mental/emotional health journey.

We’ve been under Dr Hecksel’s care for years now. She’s the most professional, compassionate and intelligent doctor I’ve ever encountered. She truly listens and cares. She knows my child and actually has a good working relationship with him. He trusts her, as do I!

Very rude and mean doc. Took my 16 year old daughter there . She downright told her she’s lying when my child told her how she feels . . Telling her she can control her anger attack’s when my child knows she can’t sometimes. She triggered her and when the attack came on she couldn’t control it .one of her associates a big 200lb man probably in his 50s give her a big fist punch in the chest right in front the police she fell to the floor with severe anxiety then panic she could have gone into cardiac arrest n died there and they won’t even care .that hecksel And about 5 of her associates just look down at her on the floor like garbage when the police came in there he was raging mad yelling at her threatening her ,telling her to calm down they didn’t want to hear what I have to say they keep on telling her she can control it when she couldn’t if I wasn’t there that police would have beaten her bad.They r not trained in these problems. I as a mother had to beg the police to calm… down. How do u think that affects a Mother’s heart. To see your child get abused Right in front your face.they just give her more anxiety n made her worse. Hecksel don’t think meds gives hallucinations when I had the meds stop all hallucinations were gone. She calls her self an expert but she is an educated idiot. You don’t ever want to take your child there . They just makes them worse they dope them up with drugs . They are all in it for the money . If Hecksel was the last person on earth I’d never ever see her again . And I’ll rate there office -0 Beware Parents

Over the years, my teenage son has seen numerous psychiatrists and Dr Hecksel is, by far, the best! She listens to not only my reports of his recent functioning, but also asks for his input. She always answers our questions and asks for our feedback regarding his care. My son's mental illness is quite significant, and we've been able to avoid several hospitalizations because she always finds time to see him when he's in crisis. The office staff are always friendly and courteous. I highly recommend Dr Hecksel for anyone looking for a child/adolescent/young adult psychiatrist!

Great doctor! Very caring and listens to my problems to help me cope with my depression.

She must have been having a bad day. She did this exact thing to me today. WOW. Dismissed me totally and disagreed with what two other counselors have said in the past.

How can a doctor rule out certain disorders when she doesn't know what my child has been doing and hasn't even talked to my child. During out first appointment, she immediately dismissed my concerns without even knowing the details or talking to my child first.
