Excellent doctor, fixed the breaks, no problems since, wish he did not retire

I have been a patient of Dr. Sanders for 18 years. He has fixed my two carpal tunnels wrists, two tennis elbows, two meniscus tears and an arthritic clavicle. Dr. Sanders diagnosis have always been accurate. In addition, there have never been any "surprises" after surgery relative to "pain" or Physical Therapy expectations. I trust him unconditionally. His nurse, Shelly, is awesome with excellent bedside manners. In my mind, there is no better orthopedic doctor/surgeon than Dr. Sanders! I don't know what happened to cause one reviewer to say Dr. Sanders was almost "combative" during an office visit but I can guarantee you that it wasn't Dr. Sanders who provoked the confrontation.

This doctor did 4 knee replacements on my brother. Both knees never felt correct & had to be re done. The doc blamed my brother @ blamed him for the failure of the first knee operation. My bro. Found that after his second surgery the recovery was totally different. This then happened to his second knee. The doc. Was unsympathetic & uncaring. He put my brother through unnecessary pain & suffering. I wouldn't have hi do surgery on my dog!

Dr Sanders is a Awesome Ortho Dr. .... He's helping get well and Super intelligent and caring .... Great office visits and is great with Needles ! Lol ... Great Doc .....

Dr. Sanders has absolutely no bedside manner. He asked me absolutely no questions about my issues or activities. He examined my hip by raising my leg up and down and poking a few times before sending in an X-ray tech to get me. He actually made me cry as he was incredibly rude to me about my issues and diagnosis. While I feel like his diagnosis is right on, I feel emotionally traumatized by my visit. He did give me a steroid injection in my hip during this visit. I am not exaggerating when I say he literally shot me up and walked out of the room. He did offer to help me off the table or even remove the dressing put around the injection site. He left me on the table with my butt hanging out!! Not even a nurse came back in to help. Awful experience. I have never been treated that way by a medical professional. I felt like I was bothering him with my visit. Never again. As a side note, his nurse, Shelly, was very nice and efficient.

Traumatic & Negative Experience!!! The wait times were excessive from the initial waiting room, to the nurse interview, to the actual exam, to the x-rays, and follow up consultation. The entire appointment exceeded two and one-half hours. I was greeted by an overburdened and seemingly burned -out elderly man known as Dr. Sanders. He did not care to hear the nature of my injury and it was evident he did not read the medical notes relayed during my interview with the nurse. Upon receiving his diagnosis, he failed to offer treatment alternatives and became annoyed on a combatant level when I requested more information about the diagnosis as well as treatment options. He told me I was being ridiculous when I expressed my concern that he lacked interest in answering my questions. I felt threatened to be in the room alone with him as his behavior was clearly hostile. Unprofessional is an understatement this had clearly turned into an aggressive situation. I had to ask him 3 times… to leave the room before he finally did so. I left the office feeling humiliated and degraded. I took half a day off from work to achieve these results.

Best doc around!! Did four knee surgeries on me...two torn meniscus and two total replacements. Always explained everything and was always willing to address any questions I had.

He has worked on me (numerous surgeries cause by a drunk driver) many times and I've always been pleased. I now live in Fl and am considering going back to Ill. for a total knee replacement by him.

Doctor Sanders is one of the best doctors you'll find outside of Carle Clinic or Mayo. I have previously seen him for my knees and a fracture. Regarding the fool who stated Dr Sanders yelled at him? Being a Health Care Professional myself, you probably did NOT listen very well to what The Doc had to say. Enough said.

I am so happy I found Dr. Sanders. I had two knee replacements in 2013, six months apart. I always heard this surgery was painful and hard. I sailed right through them because I worked hard and did my workouts even though it hurt sometimes. But the reason I did that is because Dr. Sanders mentally prepared me for these surgeries in all the visits before. He made it so clear how important it was that I was responsible for my recuperation. He was very professional and nice at the same time.
