Dr. Kevin Tomera, MD

*Dr. Tomera is very down to earth cares about the patient and family -

I saw Dr. Tomera in Ayer seven years ago. At the time, I had been undergoing numerous lithotripsies and suffering the occasional vicious kidney stone attack. Dr. Tomera prescribed a regimen that included certain inexpensive minerals among other things. I have been following his advice fairly closely, and to this day I have not had another attack. (I'm still passing stones on rare occasions, but they're too small to cause pain.) I cannot thank Dr. Tomera enough. It's rare to find an MD who doesn't immediately suggest pharmaceuticals or surgery when other options may be just as effective.

My husband is 120lbs soaking wet and has a family history of fatty liver. When my husband visited him he told him to have another drink and eat another burger. Which he does not drink and doesn’t eat crappy foods all the time. I don’t care how smart people may think he is! We are definitely going elsewhere for treatment. Just because u know your smart doesn’t give him the right to be arrogant. He looks very unprofessional like he hadn’t showered in days and like he has a problem putting down the cheeseburgers!

As a Medical Pro myself, I can appreciate THE ULTIMATE PRO that Dr Kevin Tomera has become and is. I doubt nay sayers here have clue #1. This doctor has horrible bedside manners. He treated me rudely and said I caused the medical issue I was having (family history of the issue) and then would not even discuss pertinent information with me that would prevent it from reoccurring. He treated me like I was not an intelligent fellow human and barely acnowledged me being there. He was judging me and did not know me from Adam. The surgical procedures went well but the follow up care was inferior. He used to practice in Anchorage but has left the state.

This man may know what he is doing, however, he has terrible bedside manners, visits the hospital room for 30 seconds, won't make eye contact...this is a person in it for the money not to help people.

I was most impressed that Dr. Tomera himself not only brought me to the CT Room but did the procedure himself. If you want a accurate diagnosis he's your man!!!

Genius level at medical skills, and completely devoid of social skills! Chews out his staff in front of patients! Find a urologist with a better bedside manner...there are several in Anchorage. Also, removed stents without wearing gloves....ewww! Can't help but think of him as just dirty!

My family has used Dr. Tomera for our urology needs for many years. He does not have the best bedside manner, but he makes up for this with knowledge and expertise. I don't need him to be my friend at the bedside. I need him to make excellent decisions concerning my health care. I have always felt he has given my family the very best care!
