Dr. Lucy Dey, MD

Dr. Dey has a disgusting bedside manner and quite frankly it's time for her to retire. I audio recorded the visit today and have filed a formal complaint with the medical board. Take all these negative reviews that have spanned for years as a warning to find a reputable endocrinologist because she isnt it.

Dr. Dey is very good and thorough. She gets right to the point. She always has a copy of my labs ready and compares to my last tests with me. I was in a bad situation when I first started with her and had to return every other week. And I was thankful to do so. Then every 3 months for quite some time. But once my labs were normal, appointment was every 6 months. I don't understand why people complain about their frequency of visits ??, she's trying to take care of her patients. Her staff have always been polite and helpful. Just like any office they are busy and take calls in order received. Again I feel Dr. Dey is great. She answers all my questions and is very pleasant. I'm thankful that my primary sent me to her.

I’ve been seeing her for awhile because my other Doctor moved. She is very rude, she does not listen to her patients, her bedside manor SUCKS!!! Her office never answers the phone and leaves you on hold for 30 minutes at a time until you leave a voicemail and demand a call back. That’s all she ever did was force you to come in every 3 months and order labs and tests…. I always said she holds her patients or she wouldn’t redo your prescriptions. I had to ask her a question and was told she couldn’t answer it over the phone and told me I had to make an appointment to see her and then charged me for a visit. The final straw that broke the camel’s back was a week ago when she finally called me back and very rudely asked what do you want because I’m very busy and don’t have to talk with you because I’m busy. Stay away from this pompous… Not Good…..Stay away. 0.0 stars This is not a goo

I asked Dr. Dey to send paperwork for a patient assistance program for my medication that I’m struggling to afford. She agreed but charging a 25.00 processing fee to basically fax papers because I had already filled them out. This is outrageous and obnoxious. Unfortunately I my primary can’t do it as he didn’t prescribe the medication.

She was demeaning to patient and seemed bored - charged fee upfront when not necessary by insurance company - didn't perform duties as expected - didn't tell us anything our primary didn't tell us already.

I was seeing Dr. Dey for a while, she ran up so much blood work on me. She gave me a diagnoses and prescribed me medication for this such illness. I later found out through my Primary seeing this such illness in my Medical record history that it prompted her to ask if I ever had such testing done to confirm such a diagnoses and I said no that Dr. Dey only checked my blood work, she was shocked and said that is not how you even diagnose someone with what she had diagnosed me with, she said there is a clear test to diagnose this, that testing was required to confirm with the blood work.... so I got this test done...wasted more money getting this test just to confirm I DID NOT HAVE WHAT DR. DEY said I had. Dr. Dey ran so much blood work up on me and which costed a lot of money after insurance and I ALWAYS paid my bills with her.. my other complaint besides WRONGFULLY diagnosing and treating me was that a particular bill did not get paid as the staff was sending it to a wrong address. When… I came in for my appointments they would ask me to confirm my address and they kept having it wrong, I kept telling them to correct it. Well so I never got one of my bills and didn't know about it until I seen it show up on my credit. I was furious and I tried to talk with her staff to dispute this and they would not assist in the matter and it stayed there. I eventually paid it to get it removed but I still don't believe it had a right to be there in the first place had they not sent bills to a incorrect address. For a Specialist I expected better care and not to have a wrongful diagnoses and on medication I didn't even want to be on but she insisted it would help any symptoms (which it did not) ... I am so thankful for my GREAT Primary to catch this and run the test needed to confirm I didn't have it. I don't get why Dr. Dey didn't confirm this before starting a patient on unnecessary medication. For a Specialist this is unacceptable and there has to be better Endo Drs. out there look else where. This Dr. got a lot of money from my Insurance and what I paid out of pocket and to treat me for something I didn't even have. I just can't get that through my mind.

Dr. Dey was my endo. I was taking desiccated thyroid medication. She refused to prescribe it. Switched me to Synthroid. I began balding. She misdiagnosed that as alopecia, rather than was it was, a reaction to the Synthroid. She told me I did not have Hashimotos, which I learned I did after going to another doctor. She made me see her every 3 months, which she could bill for. I would stay away from her. She is the worse doctor I have ever seen.

She is just plain scary. After being diagnosed with Hashimotos, she wouldn't prescribe me anything but just wanted to watch my numbers. I was constantly going back and forth between lab draws and then having to sit in her office for over an hour just to hear the results. It was ridiculous. Then told me that I have several nodules that needed biopsies because they are quite likely cancer. She performs the biopsies and ultrasounds in her office. RED FLAG PEOPLE. There isn't a second pair of eyes to help diagnose what she might see. I had biopsies done on all of my nodules which she later told me were negative. The biopsy itself was the kicker, I felt she was very incompetent and it was all sorts of uncomfortable. I finally went and found a new doctor out of a different hospital and she sent me to get an ultrasound (she didn't perform it in-house), where it was discovered I had no nodules. ZERO. New doc doesn't know what she performed biopsies on, but it sure as heck wasn't… anything cancerous. So, basically it call comes done to money. Horrible horrible horrible doctor. She had me so stressed out with the possible cancer diagnosis, I'm a young mom of two kids, shame on her. Why is she even allowed to practice at such a great hospital? Gross.

My experience was horrible. I possibly have a serious issue and have never been a person to go to the doctor So I am very nervous on what’s happening and the lack of any bedside manner from a specialist is disappointing to say the least Ive had to see the doctor 4 times in the last 2 months to have specific bloodwork And tests done. Every time there is no Communication. She speaks at you and does not listen to any questions or concerns. If you try to speak she will talk over you. If I would have Read the reviews prior, I would have went elsewhere. I even asked the assistant if she was always this way or was it just me. She said “its not you”

Excellent Doctor. I am sorry to see all the unfair/hateful comments about her.
