Dr. Manuel Alvarez, MD

I came to Dr. Alvarez after 4 miscarriages and 4 different drs. Dr. Alvarez was able to diagnose the reason for my miscarriages and needless to say, I have a beautiful, healthy 19 year old daughter and 17 year old son. Dr. Alvarez delivered both of my children at Hackensack hospital.

Dr. Manuel Alvarez has no beside manner. So rude and so un-respectful. I would do more digging such as malpractice, education credential etc before putting blind trust on any doctor.

After 3 miscarriages in 4 1/2 years, I had given up all hope of ever becoming a mom. One evening while pouring my heart out to a complete stranger, she mentioned Dr. Alvarez and told me a little about her troubles in conceiving and what she'd experienced. She told me, "he's not for the faint of heart, but he's a great doctor, what do you have to lose?" I went home and discussed it with my husband and we decided to give it one more shot. After a very thorough consult, Dr. Manny took me on as a new patient. Words cannot express his dedication to my care. I saw him almost every two weeks, he watched me like a hawk; his staff guided me with all that he asked me to do and not do; he made me listen, he earned my trust and my husband’s respect. We are now parents after many failed attempts. I am writing this review so that if there is any woman out there who is about to give up or has already given up on having a biological child, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Manny Alvarez. He… will give you the miracle of a child. Thank you Dr. Alvarez!

I had visisted many physician trying to save my pregnancy, Dr alvarez and his team run the safest hospital in NJ

I read a lot of online reviews before decided to see Dr Alvarez for a second opinion. He was not what those positive review described. I don't know if he was in a pissing mode that particular day or just ignorant man with a bed manner in general after he gain his TV fame. The average waiting time was 40-90 mins and when I finally got to talk to him, he was rude and rush to get me out of his office. By the way, his office at 20 Prospect Ave is not his private office, the wall in the office actually said HUMC MFM center - what does this mean is that what he does now is only acting as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist/consultant and he doesn't do the regular ob-gyn stuff. If you are high risk, you still need to find a delicated high risk ob-gyn doctor and if you doctor happens to be affiliated with HUMC, you will still going to end up see Dr. Alvarez group when you are up for such as WK 13 NT scan etc.

Dr. Alvarez definitely doesn't sugar coat anything and he can come across a little harsh. That being said he is amazing. His harshness is because he wants what is best and safest for both mom and baby. I trusted him with my life and my baby's life. My pregnancy was difficult and I was on high doses of blood thinners. We both made it through the c-section fine and are wonderful.

Dr. Manny Alvarez is my miracle Doctor! About 3 years ago my husband and I lost our baby at 35 weeks pregnant to a placental abruption. A year later we had another miscarriage at 6 weeks. My heart couldn't take much more so I left NYC and began my search for a new Doctor & found my miracle team at Hackensack Hospital. Before I met Dr. Manny Alvarez I thought having a child just wasn't in the cards for me. After my 1st consult with him I knew he had the expertise and knowledge that we needed. He took the time to learn about my past losses and to advise exactly what I needed to have a healthy pregnancy with a happy ending. He & his team monitored me vey closely and provided me with the comfort and confidence I needed at every visit. He made our dreams come true when he delivered our beautiful happy and healthy baby girl last month. I highly recommend Dr. Manny Alvarez and have the highest respect and regard for him and his staff!

I am home from having my baby, thanks to Dr. Alvarez and his wonderful staff. Dr. Manny is a caring but strict OB, he sometimes comes across as a bit crass but that's because he cares about you and your final outcome. He sings while delivering your baby, which made me relax. My husband and I love the man, you can't find a bigger heart.

Looking for a perinatologist was quite a task, most are consultants and no one wants to deliver your baby or they don't take my insurance. Dr. Manny was my savior! I have a beautiful baby boy thanks to his tender loving care.
