I had the privilege of being treated by Dr Marco Funiciello at Princeton Medical Center for a herniated disc, and I can confidently say the experience exceeded my expectations. It is rare to find a physician who combines technical/treatment skills and a vast knowledge base with a holistic and compassionate approach. Dr. Funicello has radically improved my mobility and significantly reduced the debilitating lower back pain I had endured for nearly a decade. His approach was methodical -- he was an active listener, ran appropriate diagnostics and performed a series of targeted injections with a follow to determine the source of the pain and limited mobility. When he located the "pain point" and provided treatment, I was free from pain for the first time in 10 years. I am so grateful for his care. Anyone with chronic back pain is aware that there are too many knife-happy orthopedists, charlatans who guarantee full restoration with some non FDA approved remedy and physicians who can only offer a grim appraisal and advice to buy a wheelchair. I tried them all, as well as physical therapy and chiropractic As a physically active, 50-something former athlete, I was… on the verge of giving up. But Dr. Funicello never gave up and always inspired me to believe there would be relief, it would just take time to make a proper diagnosis. Thanks to Dr. Funicello, I just returned from a two week trip to Italy where I averaged walking/hiking 12 miles a day and up to 40 staircases a day and did so pain-free! Dr. Funicello is fabulous. He listens and is extremely knowledgeable. He explains all procedures and options. He understands active lifestyles. Dr. Funicello clearly respects patients' opinions and needs. He is honest and agreed with me that is was time to see a hip specialist for total hip replacement. I so appreciate this. I highly recommend Dr. Funicello.

Dr. Funiciello has been treating my back pain for years. I am gradually requiring less and less treatment, am able to exercise and have a much higher quality of life than before. Before him, I was planning my future based on not being able to walk without assistance. I can walk a mile now, and am steadily improving.

This is one of the best practices I've been to. All offices should strive to model this practice. Appointments are taken on time and always with a smile. Dr. Funiciello is "aces." Consultation, diagnosis and treatment to address issues are done right away - no having to make new appointment(s) for testing, etc. Relief was gained by the end of the first appointment. Pain Rx's are available right there at the office - no separate trip to pharmacy. Check out is quick and again with a smile. Follow up appointments are flexible and with phone reminders as they approach. Follow up appointments are even more efficient - in & out under 30 min (sometimes less). Heck, even their Wi-Fi is super fast at over 100 Mbps!

My daughter and I had been planning a 30-day adventure to hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail together. But then I suffered first a knee injury and then herniated 4 cervical discs. Needless to say, it was a huge set back. The pain was intense, and the restricted movement put the whole trip in jeopardy. My wife recommended Dr. Funiciello at Princeton Spine and Joint Center and from the moment I met him, I knew it was the right move. Dr. Funiciello and his staff have done wonders with my knee and herniated discs. The personal care at each office visit, enhanced by the recommended physical therapy and home exercises, completely eliminated the pain in both the knee and the back. Without any surgery or invasive procedures, Dr. Funiciello restored me back to good health and kept our Appalachian Trail adventure alive. I can’t thank PSJC and Dr. Funiciello enough for all the help they’ve given me, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone.

If the fear or pain associated with injections is stopping you don’t put off your visit another day. I am a baby and the process was easy. Had. 2nd injection today and feeling relief finally after suffering for over 2 months. Just wish I sought this. Dr out sooner

Dr. Funiciello is Professional, compassionate and get excellent results

Treated by Dr. Funiciello 3 years ago for torn shoulder pain. Gave me my life back. (I was treated by other orthopedics and did extensive physical therapy for a year but none help until Fr. Funiciello). Unrelated pain recently and he saw me the next day. Able to find out the problem right away and gave me the injection to relieve the pain. Note that they have my previous MRI and medication records, so the treatment decision is faster than new patients. Plus two things I really appreciate: 1. ONTIME!! Gold star for that! 2. Dispense medicine on the spot so I need not make another trip to pharmacy. Thank you. The doctors and staffs I encountered were all very nice, patience and able to give clear instructions. I highly recommend Dr. Funiciello and this treatment facility to people who do not need surgery.
