Dr. Margaret Traynor Mickelson, MD

If I could give this doctor less than one star, I would. She was the attending obgyn on call after I gave birth. On my first interaction with her, she mocked me for ordering so much food after giving birth (one meal is a lot?) and on my second interaction, she ripped the dressing off my c section wound so aggressively that she tore off my skin. The nurse tried to defend me and Dr. Mickelson snapped back at her. This is not the kind of doctor you would want while in such a vulnerable position. My husband is a physician at the same hospital she works at, and even that wasn’t enough for her to behave professionally.

After I had my daughter, I was hospitalized. This was the MD on call. Because I was a larger person with pitting edema, she was grossed out and very impersonal. She even said "gross" when looking at what the edema did to my feet. She gives you a look of disgust. She is not a professional at all. If ever I have to have a GYN surgery and she is the On Call she will be told to remove herself and not come back. She is also the MD that turned me away when I was in labor with my youngest daughter. I had an abrupted placenta and bled for two days into my uterus until I waited for my regular MD check up. My daughter and I could have died, but she turned me away not once, not twice, but three times. Never again with her on call.

During the birth of my son, in the middle of labor, she said hurry up and push or we are doing a csection. I have someone else in labor next door.

I hsve had her for 3 of my now going to be 4th pregnancy and a miscarriage. She is the best and nobody is better in my own opinion. Her father was a DR and a very good one too. She is a Dr I do and have trusted with my life. Waiting to see her is no problem. I would rate her the best and suggest if you can get her, keep her! She is the top of the line!

I've heard others complain it's hard to get into see Dr Mickelson during their pregnancy, but I had no issues at all. There was only one appointment that we had to wait longer than 10 minutes but she was doing a delivery when we got there. When issues came up with my pregnancy she became very concerned and began to monitor me more closely. She always answered any questions I had. She and her staff always remembered my name, but what really impressed me is they even remembered my husband's. Which made us feel like people and not numbers like we felt with other doctors.
