Dr. Christensen has been part of the surgical staff since 1980, and has special interests in cleft lip and palate care. After completing residency and fellowship training at Northwestern University, she joined the Park Nicollet Clinic. She is also a clinical professor of surgery at the University of Minnesota and has been part of the U of M Cleft Craniofacial Team for 30 years. Dr. Christensen's interest in cleft care has led to longstanding relationships with a number of international volunteer surgery programs. She provides cleft care overseas several times a year, particularly in Peru, Mexico and Ecuador.
