Dr Courey is very impressive…. an excellent diagnostician and is very empathetic. Luckily, he was able to get to the heart of the problem within minutes of taking my history and physical examination. I had already resigned myself to living with my situation. Together with the speech therapist we were able to map out a game plan. It’s hard to find a physician of this caliber in this day and age. Highly recommend him.

Good laryngoscope. However, when he took a look at my severe voice issues following trauma, he misdiagnosed the underlying cause of the vocal cord problem. He overlooked a fracture (totally calcified by this point) on my CT scan. He offered no course of action, except to see him again in a month. Pointless and demoralizing. I didn't take him up on that second visit. Another laryngologist subsequently performed a challenging surgery to address the actual problem.

I spent two years and a small fortune trying to find a doctor to help me. Turns out I had VCD. Dr. Courey is miraculous. He worked with a genius speech therapist, Leeann Goldberg, and because of the two fo them, I am, for the first time in five years, getting better.

I had been to about 20 different doctors. I really liked that he didn't jump to medical intervention and that he sent me to a speech therapist who was really excellent! I saw results the first day.

Dr. Courey is a stellar physician. I wish he was my Primary MD. He is very professional, but at the same time relaxed and down-to-earth. He put me at ease with his kind demeanor and I really felt as though he personally cared about me and the quality of my life.

Voice went away due to nerve damage from cold virus. Local ENT just said wait for 6 months to see if comes back. Went to UCSF Dr. Courey who took action. Even juggled schedule to perform gel injection during same visit. Instant voice restore. Patient, relaxed, professional. Top notch video & computer equip. Explained as much as you'd like to know.
