Dr. Mark D Neuman has the following 2 specialties
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

I started seeing Dr. Neuman in June. He was very cold, off-putting, condescending, and frankly sexist. I was severely depressed and suicidal, and I felt like my experiences were invalidated as if he wanted me to jump the bridge. He was also reckless and kept pushing me to take all of these medications without bothering to warn me of side effects and limitations of each med, because it paid him good to do so. I only went to him to have 1 prescription refilled. Every refill we needed, we had to pay to go see him first. He was always interested in the money, not the patient. I've been battling chronic health issues on top of depression. This month my physical health collapsed with several neurological problems and extreme muscle tension in my neck and jaw; I was nearing an ER visit. My parents went to beg him to put me on a muscle relaxant or valium, and the staff said it would be filled. 2 weeks went by and nothing happened. I finally get a reply that he will not fill the prescription, unless of course I pay him to come see him again. So, then and there for the final time, I decided that he did not care about my pain, or that I could be hospitalized and maimed for life. I no longer see this physican. And for obvious reasons, I do not recommend him to anyone. Please find someone instead who actually cares for you as a human being.
I have been with Dr. Neuman for 16 years--his whole career! I have treatment-resistant depression and he has been willing to prescribe combinations of drugs and I have even had ECT --which trashed my memory. But I do not blame him--I asked for these modalities. However, after my desperation has become worse I am searching for a new MD. It's true that he yawns during appointments and although I wouldn't say "cold hearted" I would agree that he is not overly sympathetic; he does seem very thrilled when I am on the up side, and I suppose, like me, he is getting tired of all this..I have not noticed him flirting with the receptionists; however, he does not apologize when he is late and just doesn't seem very smart, either professionally or academically. But he was there when I first needed him and I have to appreciate that,
He was an hour late and all he does is flirt with the receptionist! When he finally saw me he was condescending and rude. I would never go back to him again.
