To the Mother of two. Sad that you had this negative experience and didn't stick around long enough to see what a great Doctor he is. To each their own.

We had a very similar experience to the Dec 4, 2013 mother of two commentary. I might add that after the dr earned his big colonoscopy $$, we never were able to talk with him regarding the next steps to follow. Instructions and prescriptions were issued by the nurses, who provided no assurances, information or guidance. Their patient relations skills also left much to be desired. Highly recommend the eventual path (food sensitivity testing) mother of two has taken, as it worked wonders for us.

If I could give negative stars I would. My son was injured from having an endoscopy/colonoscopy performed. Procedures he makes $7,000+ from and seem to be his main business. He told us that there was zero chance of bleeding with the procedure. WRONG! Our two year old child was loosing cups of blood after and when we made a formal complaint with the hospital the VP of the hospital, who was an ER Dr. previously, said that this was actually common. He expressed concern that Glassman would refute this as a known risk. He also said Glassman never should have performed the procedure because he was aware of the acute state of inflammation our child was experiencing. He also promised that we would be with our child when he woke up. Our little one was 2 years old at the time. Instead of honoring his assurances to us and making sure our child had his parents with him when waking up in a new place, he dashed out to us and did his post procedure consult, saying that our boy was 'still under'… and the nurses would get us when he was showing signs of coming to. Another lie! He just didn't want to wait around or do the consult after we had seen our child. So the whole time he was talking with us he knew that our two year child was awake and scared. It turns out he was terribly upset and screaming and scared not knowing a single soul around him and hooked up to an IV and everything else. The main problem with his practice however is the fact that he refuses to update his understanding of science as it evolves concerning his field, specifically how allergies, food intolerances, and environmental aspects cause inflammation and damage to the GI and how this damage can look exactly like UC, Chrohns, and Colitis. He seems to be willingly ignorant in this regards. There are in fact small markers that differentiate these problems and he seemed to not know this and to not want to accept this area as something that is worth considering. He emphatically said " Food has nothing to do with it!" So did his secretary - which is really interesting because I am pretty sure she is not licensed to be doling out advice. If he did take the approach of doing less invasive testing - especially with young children - and used an allergy elimination approach ( which is common among the more competent practitioners, who we have seen with good results since) then he would probably not be doing as many in hospital, lucrative, procedures. Glassman wanted my two year old to remain on several pharmaceutical drugs for the rest of his life and told my husband to expect a procedure to remove portions of his intestines before he turned of age. And in fact none of this was relevant because our child was gluten intolerant!! He absolutely does not have UC or Chrohn's disease. Glassman did not want to even consider the idea of gluten intolrance. Thank fully we found a wonderful doctor who properly diagnoses our child's sensitivities. He is healthy and thriving. According to his doctor our son grew 4 1/2 inches last year as a 4 year old. His current physician says there are obviously no absorption issues and he shows no markers of damage or inflammation. I can not imagine what my son's life would be like right now if we gone along with what Glassman wanted to do. My take away on Glassman is that he is a second or third rate hack of a doctor who willfully disregards science and preys upon the pockets of frightened parents whose children are ailing, so that he can profit from lots of unnecessary procedures . His answers are drugs and surgery, and his diagnostical perspective is slanted to disclude even the idea of food related cause and effect, such as the case of allergies. Caveat Emptor! Almost forgot to mention the disgusting way in which Glassman tried to cover up the problem our child had after the procedure. Since he had significant bleeding from it, of course I immediately called his office. He begrudgingly called me back after I called several times stating how urgent it was. He told me that it was fine and not to go to the ER!! When I related his to the VP of the hospital in my compalint there, I was told that that was wrong of the doctor to have done that and that we should have taken him in because if the bleeding. Glassman did not want the hospital knowing the child was injured from his procedure.

I highly remmond Dr. Glassman to others one day we needed to change an appt and they were really nice about fitting us in even if they were booked solid for two weeks . staff is pretty freindly .

i'ts crazy that you can't make an appt with him with a 3 months in advance what happen if your child is in alot pain and you need to talk to the doctor.

I love Dr.Glassman. I have a long list of medical problems bu the on doctor I can truly feel at ease is Dr.Glassman. It's very much a pleasent exprience.

I took my daughter to see him and he is honestly th best doctor she has ever seen! He is so kind and caring! She had had vomitting problems and he really listened to what was wrong and was very kind to me (her mother) as well. He explained things and cured her problem no problem. He's amazing and we love him!
