Dr. Horattas has managed the surgical care of a close family member of mine. He is empathetic, compassionate, and patient. Everyone with whom we've spoken has the utmost respect for him. He is the Chair of General Surgery at Akron General, and everything indicates that he has more than earned that title/position. Contacting his office and getting answers is a refreshingly simple task in today's world of endless automation and hold times. He has asked us "Is there anything we could have done better?" multiple times. He sincerely cares for his patients and their well-being.

The only ones you get to talk to are the residents. If you are lucky you get to see him for 30 sec, but there is no doubt that he is already somewhere else with his mind.

Excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him. Very good at explaining what is going on and has time to talk with you.

Dr. Horratas is a wonderful physician who catered to my anxiety and really took care of me during my appointment. I was there to find out if my thyroid nodule was cancerous. He quickly told me it was not and even gave me a picture of the ultrasound. I also appreciate his willingness not to rush to have surgery given that is what he does and his bedside manner was impeccable. I would highly recommend Dr. Horratas for your surgical needs.

Very professional. He was caring and answered my question as much as he could..he couldn't answer until he got in there. Staff is outstanding.
