Dr. Mark Jon Quitadamo, MD

During my first exam, he told me to pull down my under pants. I didn't have a problem with that nor did I at the second appointment. Now by the third visit, he told me to drop my pants so he can check my bottom. I told him that it wasn't necessary since it has started looking better, he said he wanted to take a look anyway, it takes him a couple of seconds and I'm told to pull up my pants. My last two visits, the spots on my butt were gone and I told him so and again, he tells me to drop my pants so he can take a look, he has to see (that's what he say's) The only reason I'm still going to him is because I'm on a medicine that requires me to taper off. I see no reason why I have to pull down my pant's so he can take a look at my bottom at each and every appointment even when there is nothing there TO see. I have another male doctor and when he needs to examine me, he'll say he'll be right back so he can have a medical assistant come in. Not once has Dr. Quintadamo say to me he was… going to get a Medical Assistant to come into the room. I know other places do and I don't know if this is Dartmouth Hitchcock's standard protocol for male doctors examining female patients. If it is, they need to change it.

I've gone to Dr. Quitadamo because my psoriasis wasn't responding to typical treatment. So far I have seen him seven time's and all seven appointment's he told me to pull down my pant's so that he can see. I have told him the last four visit's that it's healed up and there's nothing to see. He insisted on looking anyway and he'll spend a few seconds looking then he say's pull your pant's up. This has made me feel very uncomfortable and the only reason why I'm still going is because I'm taking medication that has to be tapered off. There has NEVER been a nurse or medical assistant in the room during any of these exams. He is the only male doctor I have ever seen that doesn't require someone in the room. If you choose to see him, I suggest that you have a friend or relative go in with you. He takes time to answer your questions and he does listen to what you have to say. The only two things that I don't like is what I have written at the very beginning.

I went to him for a rash + he diagnosed me with Psoriasis. He wanted to prescribe me a medication that was very potent and I would have to be monitored regularly. I refused and never went back! At my visit I had to take my clothes off and put on a gown. There was no nurse assisting the doctor + this made me very uncomfortable. I highly recommend Dr Chiang at Elliott Dermatology in Manchester. He is wonderful and has helped my condition clear up. The office is very friendly and I couldn't be more happier with them.
