Dr. Mark Schultzel, MD

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Schultzel. I had a bicep tendon surgery done by him, and the outcome has been fantastic. Dr. Schultzel is not only highly skilled but also incredibly kind and attentive. He made sure I fully understood the procedure and what to expect during recovery. His team was also wonderful, providing excellent care and support throughout the process. My recovery has been smooth, and I'm very pleased with the results. I would recommend Dr. Schultzel without hesitation!

If you are looking for a top notch orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Schultzel is it! I had partially torn meniscus and since my wife already had a fantastic experience with Dr. Schultzel, I decided to go to his practice. After careful diagnosis, he recommended partial meniscectomy; He performed the procedure at the James Brown Pavillon Outpatient Center by Sharp Medical. Of course I was anxious as I haven't had surgery for 25 years but his team (nurses, anesthesiologist etc) made it so comfortable. The procedure went well and also the after care was excellent; the physical therapy he recommended helped me in only three session to get confidence and strength back. About 2 months after surgery I was feeling 100% - today, I forget that I ever had this surgery - so, overall, Dr. Schultzel and his team did a phenomenal job and I can highly recommend him!

Dr. Mark Schultzel is a very attentive doctor who made sure to address all my concerns and explain the procedure I was getting clearly. If I had any questions, I would email him, and he would respond promptly to make sure I had all the answers I needed. He and his team provided a very welcoming environment, great hospitality, and allowed for the best recovery process I could ask for. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Mark Schultzel.

Dr. Schultzel is the most empathetic, caring, and professional doctor/surgeon. He was my surgeon for my shoulder repair and has completely changed my life—for the better. His competence and follow up as a surgeon has been incredibly beneficial to my road to shoulder recovery. I cannot recommend him enough. I had a great experience with Dr. Schultzel. From intake appointment to operation, to being fully healed, Dr. Schultzel and his staff made my first surgery a really smooth process. I trust them all and I felt cared for through the whole process.

This doctor is an absolute saint! No I mean it! Don’t go anywhere else you have to see dr Schultzel! He is so caring and understanding, listens to everything you have to say (coming for an ER visit where no one listen and I got diagnosed with a twisted ankle while it was actually broken bones, torn ligaments and tendon… trust me it mattered) he knew exactly what to do and not even a year later I am back to wearing heels! His care plan was great, every recommendation he has made has been the best advice. I 10000% recommend him! A caring compassionate person that truly knows what they are doing!

Dr Schultzel is tremendous. Dr Schultzel repaired my full thickness rotator cuff tear. It’s been a tremendous success with 100% recovery at just six months; of course I followed therapy instructions intensively. No more pain, can’t even feel the surgical location any more. It has full function, I’m sleeping eight hours straight through in bed on either side with no issues. Full strength has been restored; the general outcome has far exceeded expectations in half the time expected. Dr Schultzel and the PT teams that work with him have been a life changing experience at 68 years old. My entire arm/m & shoulder feel better now than 10 years ago. Superb!

Highly, highly recommend! The best aspects that I appreciated about Dr. Schultzel and his practice were his attentiveness, accessibility and ability to communicate through his Ravarra app when needed, his listening ear to my specifics concerns during appointments and his desire to provide the best quality of care to me. During every appointment, both he and his staff were always friendly, took the time to know you as a patient and ensured that I left with all of my questions and concerns addressed. Today I'm living the life I want to because six months ago on an awful day in my life, I was referred to Dr. Schultzel. He met me where I was at, made an effort to understand my goals, and helped me understand the best way to achieve them. I'm skateboarding 5-6 days a week and training ju jitsu 3-4 times weekly 6 months after having ORIF surgery on my left ankle and I owe that to the Dr. and his team.

I ruptured my left Achilles and while it was no walk in the park- Dr. Schultzel made it the most painless successful journey I could have ever asked for! What an amazing experience with Dr Shultzel and his entire staff from the first time I saw him until now. He is hands down one of the best doctors I have seen (and unfortunately I have seen a lot) and his staff is some of the best people who truly care. Could not have had a better experience despite the most painful fracture of my life. Dr. Schultzel is a passionate surgeon who truly cares about his patients. I am fully healed now after a brutal humerus fracture thanks to Dr. Schultzel!

A year back, I fell, sustained a complex fracture. I recall waking up to see a man in hospital scrubs and smiling face, and heard him say “I will take care of you." I am a cardiologist and doctors make the worst patients, but his methodical approach made sense and dissipated all apprehensions. I was in the hands of a compassionate expert who could empathize with the patient experience and address concerns on pain and mobility with grace. 9 months have passed, I have regained range of motion, with steady rehab and throughout Dr Schultzel has illuminated the light at the end of the tunnel. I am reminded of Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord “... that is what Dr. Schultzel did for me and that why the lord has destined him to serve across times of despair. I feel being more physically functional, as Dr. Schultzel helped redirect my energies to productively ….towards normalcy. He was and remains my “ANGEL”. He is the epitome of what a doctor can be – and I highly recommend Dr. Schultzel as a surgeon-healer. I wish him GODSPEED. As you face a future surgery, you literally could not be in better hands.... Need I say more?

Dr Shultzel is an exceptional surgeon. He repaired my broken wrist with surgery inserting a plate to bring the broken bones together. 3 months later I have remarkable use of wrist and hand. They are strong flexible and the scar is minimal. Dr. Shultzel is very knowledgeable, attentive, engaging and honest and gives you his full and undivided attention. You feel safe and instantly optimistic about the outcome. And he's a dog owner, what's not to love about that.

I was treated for and ultimately had surgery with Dr. Mark Schultzel for a torn rotator cuff. From the 1st appointment, Dr. Schultzel demonstrated interest in me as a person as well as a patient. Dr Schultzel is the best! I would recommend him for all your orthopedic needs! He is an excellent surgeon! He makes his patients (and their families) feel at ease. Choosing Dr. Schultzel as the surgeon to repair my achilles tendon was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. Dr. Schultzel has a true gift, not only in being an exceptional surgeon, but in how he is able to relate with his patients and how he advocates for us. I tore my achilles tendon about 7 weeks prior to my wedding date. I was introduced to Dr. Schultzel and chose to put my health and, ability to walk at my wedding, in his hands. Dr. Schultzel and his team were able to get me in for an appointment immediately and into surgery in what seemed like an insanely short period of time. I can confidently say that due to the sense of urgency that Dr. Schultzel works with and how passionate he is about his patients' recovery/improvement, I was able to walk down the aisle and celebrate with my family and friends. If you need a new shoulder, this is the doctor to do it. From beginning to end, it was a very good experience and as little pain as possible.
