Dr. Martin Silverstein is a board-certified radiation oncologist. He received his B.A. and M.D. degrees from Boston University and completed his residency in radiation oncology at the SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn where he served as chief resident. His post-doctoral training began with a surgical residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was followed by additional training in urology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, spurring his interest in prostate cancer treatment. Following his residency, Dr. Silverstein was an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and served as an assistant attending in Radiation Oncology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. In 1995, Dr. Silverstein joined the practice of New York Cancer Specialists.

He treated me 2 times for same cancer in different areas. found him to be professional yet caring and compassionate.

Dr. Silverstein was attentive to my concerns. He's a very good listener - trait I respect greatly in a physician. He was thorough, making sure everything was done the best way for me. I felt safe in his care, I trusted his decisions. He helped make what could have been a difficult experience so much more easy for me.

Dr. silverstein took the fear out of my experience with chemo. and radiation treatment with his kindness and professionalism. When i first spoke with Silverstein i recognize his experience and he earned my trust on that first visit. By following his advise i got through my treatment with no Difficulties. No regrets

Dr. Silverstein went above and beyond what I expected. He visited my surgeon and discussed my treatment with him bringing my chart,photos and other materials concerning my case. He fully explained the procedure and informed me of the consequences. I would definetly recommend this Dr. and North Shore Rad. office.
