Dr. Matthew J Salzler, MD

Had a labrum repair in my right shoulder in December of 2020. I wish I never did it. I haven't felt remotely the same since and it has not been for a lack of effort. I have gone to 4 Physical Therapists and numerous alternative experts (chiros, Z-health, anatomy in motion, etc). I felt better with a shredded labrum. I'm currently exploring surgical options, but the surgeon isn't sure what could've gone wrong... Regardless, my experience deserves one star. Not a comment on Matthew's character.

My experience with Dr. Matthew J Salzler has been amazing. I have been in pain for more than 6 months (adductor tendinitis). I tried EVERYTHING to fix it and nothing worked so we finally decided to do surgery (adductor release). It was my first surgery ever and I was pretty scare but he and all the team (nurses, anesthesia doctors, stuff, etc.) at Tufts Medical Center were just unbelievable. They made the procedure so easy. After a week from the surgery I can tell that the pain from the injury is gone! You are in good hands with Dr. Salzler and his team. I highly recommend him. Thank you so much! Victor Sanchez

My 17 year old "blew-out" his knee senior year of high school. He required major knee reconstruction surgery. We were referred to Dr. Salzler by our local Ortho and have never met a better surgeon. Dr. Salzler carefully explained the issues with my son, directly to my son! He spent the time to make sure Cam understand the surgery, the process, and the recovery. I cannot THANK Dr. Salzler and his office staff enough for their care and commitment to their patients. He patiently addressed every question or concern Cam had during the 2 years under his care. We highly recommend him!

Timely appointments. Never felt rushed. Explained rationale for treatment options, procedure (both pre and post surgery), and what to expect for recovery.

I was referred to Dr. Salzler by the Tufts Emergency Department after fracturing my knee cap in a bike crash. Dr. Salzler gave me very realistic expectations about my recovery time and process and his predictions were pretty-much spot-on. The wound is healing nicely and my recovery is on-track. He's always honest about where how I should be progressing and what he expects my timeline to be. This was exactly the kind of feedback I needed.

I consulted with three different orthopedic surgeon for a long overdue shoulder injury before meeting with Dr. Salzer at Tufts Medical center in Boston. Upon my first visit I was very confident and comfortable with his abilities and overall enthusiasm. Had a pretty serious procedure done and within weeks I was already seeing improvements. Dr. Salzer contacted me personally twice within a week of surgery. I am 5 months in and my shoulder is better than it was when I was 18. Great facilities, friendly staff and amazing bedside manners.

Dr. Salzer was a fantastic doctor and a great surgeon. Really helped me understand my injury, surgery, and subsequent recovery.

Dr. Salzler has been there to answer all of my questions, inspect any ache or pain I think k may be concerning and providing understandable explanations for all visits. He makes me feel less crazy for coming in to check what could be nothing. Such a pleasure to talk to and is by far my favorite doctor. I'd recommend him to anyone.

I tore my ACL and MCL while skiing last year. Dr Salzler was very knowledgeable, helpful and personable. He assisted me with a recovery program which will allow me to be in skiing condition by this winter (<12 months after the injury). I am very happy with the entire process.
