Dr. Mehrdad Saeed-Vafa, MD

This Dr. Called in to our facility trying to get patient scheduled to see a oncologist but he 1st started talking down about our establishment and referred to us as " Thats why I dont refer to You People" hmmm but you are calling us now. But anyway at my facility records must be reviewed 1st before patient is scheduled. He did not want to fax records. I explained our process to get a patient scheduled. He was not trying to hear it. Very rushy and tone was pushy and loud. He told me its against the law to not tell him who the patient will see!! I told him records would be reviewed by the nurse and doctors 1st and 1 will take case in rotation. He asked who were some of the doctors and I named a few and he said one of them did not take the insurance. I told him well if that one was not contracted then all the other doctors will not be contracted because they are under same billing umbrella. He hung up. Hope he has a better day.

Dr. Vafa was my mothers physician and while under his care/non care she had progressing symtoms from the drug amneodorone that were nearly fatal! Never did he do any of the testing required by law to monitor a patient while using this drug. He also did not listen to her concerns as her health progressively deteriorted until she was finally at 15% lung capacity and was emergently hospitalized. Dr. Vafa is arrogant, self-centered and not at all liked by the staff or other physicians at St Anthony's hospital.. If under his care, I would highly recommend finding another dr. and/or speaking with the nursing staff and the social worker and have this informantion confirmed. Best of luck to you if he is your Dr. You will need it!
