I suffered a fall and had a badly broken tibia/ fibula. I was very fortunate that Dr. Boynton was called to do the surgery. He reassured me, explained what would happen and then did an excellent job of putting my leg back in shape. My accident was unfortunate but having Dr. Boynton repair the damage was very fortunate. Saw Dr. Boynton initially for a separated shoulder and then a dislocated shoulder. We discussed the possibility of surgery (rotator cuff) but Dr. Boynton was very clear about the pluses and minuses of surgery and did not push me one way or another. He was also very upfront about the lengthy rehabilitation following rotator cuff surgery, I went ahead with the operation which went fine and he also cleaned up some other issues with my shoulder. Very capable surgeon. Excellent communicator. Would highly recommend Dr. Boynton.

Dr. Boynton was referred to me through several ski area reps. throughout the State of Vermont. This was the second time I had blown my knee out and was facing a very complex revision of my ACL, Meniscus and MCL. After meeting with other surgeons in Burlington I had the opportunity to get a second opinion from Dr. Boynton. Best decision I may have ever made. Topnotch surgeon that I would recommend to anyone! He performed a micro fracture procedure on femur which we didnâ??t know was as damaged as it was. Not many surgeons would have done this all in one surgery choosing to string out multiple surgeries and costing me $$$ not to mention multiple rehabs. Best sports medicine doctor in Vermont and possibility the US! Two weeks after surgery I already had 120degree rage of motion in my knee and zero pain!

Still working with Dr. Mel on a shoulder problem. His staff at VOC is nothing but the best, most courteous and polite people in medicine. Judging by the letters of thanks from some previous patients in professional sports I must say Dr. Mel is in a league of his own.
