Revision Hip Surgery did not go well -after two years PT at home and other PT locations - I am crippled - R leg turns out to R - short leg - lifts to shoes does not help -balance off - cannot lift R leg - dressing is a difficult more complications - appts with three surgeons later - want nothing to do with this botched surgery - found out he left medical center to relocate to Wyoming - did not let me know he was relocating - didn't notify some patient's in writing? Professional Doc?

Dr Lightheart told me I needed hip replacement. I did not. I still do not 7 yrs later. But this kept me from getting help I needed as an inpatient a couple years later when the real problem - lumbar disc - got so bad I ended up in the ER twice, then admitted. He came to my room, stood on the opposite side about as far away as he could, and said, "I think you're depressed," then left. Very ignorant position to take w/ an intelligent woman also w long-standing diagnosis of FMS. But the next doc in said, "It's NOT YOUR HIP, we know it's not your hip. But I can't do anything for you bc he's a specialist." It was months of agonizing pain, immobility before I got to a specialist who ordered an MRI. Then PT (modified for aquatics bc of FMS) fixed it. Doc, I hope you read this & have stopped flirting w "the skirts" when patients are waiting directly across the hall & both doors are open. Women really do care about ethics.

Dr. Wm. Lighthart & his Assn't Jennifer Hopkins were very thorough and carefully explained my sport-damaged arthritic knee options today. Previously I'd been to an ortho practice in NYS, and it was worth the extra driving to come here: more detailed, more caring, more experienced and more confidence-building. I decided on surgery and my confidence in this decision was supported by their professionalism (and the dozens of compliments from top ski-racers didn't hurt either.) Unfortunately will have to wait a couple of months for the operation, but it still seems like the correct choice.

One gets a diagnosis in 5 seconds flat and the whole visit is 5 minutes tops. No time to ask questions or to even think of questions to ask. Let alone, be asked if I did have any questions. He was in his car and out of the parking lot before I was!
