Dr. Michael Grayson Simmons, MD

My appointment with Dr. Simmons in Scottsboro went as expected. Need a followup soon. Very intelligent man. I know how much he has impacted the lives of so many people. His past actions deserve more recognition than what he has gotten. More than just what is discussed on reddit.

I would give Dr. Simmons 5 stars BUT I would give his overall staff 0 stars. They fail to give follow-up information or appointments. They will make an appointment without notification to you about it. I know it's hard to get good help, but the doctor must stress that his staff must be more patient-oriented and efficient. He's good, staff, not so much.

After sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes, Tracy the “office manager” very rudely and loudly asked if I had a mask. I answered no ma’am. She then stated in front of other patients “they have rules and I couldn’t be in there. I got up and left. Here’s the thing, there is nothing posted on their door or inside the office and again I’d been there for a while. I would have been happy to comply if I could but I’d come in a vehicle I don’t normally drive. Also, Tracy is in desperate need of customer service training. It wasn’t what she said but the venom dripping from here voice meant it had to be the worst day of her life or she’s simply incompetent when it comes to dealing with the public. This is after waiting a month for an appointment and driving an hour to get there. I was there to give you money for a service. Treat people better. There are other options. I do not recommend this place and do recommend you drive to bham or Huntsville.

Great doctor and wonderful staff

In my review for some reasoning had one star in promptness and friendly staff. They were a five or more. Thanks for the job the staff does.??

I have seen and worked with many Physicians in my life and career. Dr. Simmons has always had the best bedside manner; very honest in his discussions with me. Very knowledgeable. Very supportive in decision making on treatments available. Always sees you in a timely manner. The nursing staff and receptionist I would rate Excellent also. Dr. Simmons is one of a few Doctor’s that has taken the time to call me personally and give me updates on my test and updates of my level of care. This is all you need to know, someone that cares goes a long way. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Great Dr. Explained everything in detail, and had a wonderful sense of humor, as well as bedside manner.

I have never met any doctor quite like Simmons. Treatment was sub par. Bed side manner needs a lot of work.
