Dr. Michael S. Lempel, DO

I went to Dr. Lempel for a large fibroid removal. During the operation, without consulting me or my husband, he removed my fallopian tube- later claiming it was attached to the fibroid. What I am most concerned with is his post op bedside manners. He never visited or called me to explain what happened in the surgery. No one from staff called to ask about recovery. When I requested a call because his MyChart messages or rushed and short, he flat out refused. He’s an egotistical doctor who made me feel small and inconsequential. He does not want to listen to me and seemed to be evasive with direct questions. If you want a personable doctor (and not just be a number in his long list of clients), Dr. Lempel is not for you. Unfortunately, I lost trust in him.

Phenomenal doctor and excellent overall experience! Hands down the best provider I have seen since moving to NOVA. He listens, he offers suggestions, he isn't pushy, and he is funny! My friends all see him. Staff is great too. He also delivers and operates out of Inova Fairfax which is a bonus.

Dr. Lempel is my favorite OBGYN in Northern VA. He is sweet, friendly, kind, nice, experienced, listen patiently to all my concern. I feel so lucky to meet him. I was suffered for months of severe pelvis pain and abnormal bleeding. none of the obgyn helped me well like he did. I was on and off for emergency for pain management and It was indeed nightmare. When I met him he understood my problem so well and I were chosen better route for my issue which was surgery. He told me honestly about surgery pros and cons. I did surgery urgently and It went so well bcoz of his experiences. Now I am feeling recovered and pain was gone and period is like normal person just 3 days. I am so very happy person and I feel so blessed meeting him. I do thank you Dr.Lempel all that he has helped me. he explained so well about my issues, symptoms and also for precautional advices. No look further and you will not regrets at all. I do highly recommend him as your obgyn.

Dr. Lempel came highly recommended to me from a personal friend. Now I can see what all the fuss is about! Dr. Lempel has an excellent bedside manner, and is very welcoming. All of my pre-natal visits were exceptional and enjoyable. My partner & I had lots of questions, Dr. Lempel answered every single one of them tirelessly & resolved any concerns. Dr. Lempel is accessible & very responsive via email. I couldn’t ask for a better OB/GYN. I plan to recommend him to my friends and coworkers!

I see him and all my friends do as well. Great guy. Funny. Patient. You don't find doctors like this anymore.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER SEEN. WONDERFUL COMMUNICATOR. HE ENDED UP DELIVERING ME AND MADE THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE FANTASTIC AND RELAXING. I AM GRATEFUL TO HAVE FOUND HIM.

Only good things to say. What an approachable doctor! Takes the time to explain all of the options that you have... both medical and surgical. My family was equally impressed with his explanation of the surgery.

I won't see anyone else!

While people complain that they don't like their doctor because they feel rushed or that they've been dismissed, I work in the health care field and it is the structure of medicine today they makes it this way. This doctor is fabulous. He understands the physiology of women and uses traditional and non-traditional (vitamins, herbals, oils, exercises) to help heal his patients. He is the only doctor that I've ever seen that is worth waiting to see. His wait times can be long because he devotes as much time to patients as they require. Ignore the complainers, they probably went in with an attitude or or underlying motive and didn't get their way. I give him 5 stars.
