Dr. Michael Spiegel, MD

"First do no harm" didn't apply to my "treatment" with Dr. Speigel. I was prescribed a medication in far to high a dose l was later told by a different rheumatologist. He prescibed it wrong and l suffered from that mistake for 8 syraight days. He did not write about my calling him in my chart . He has a horrible, condescending personality and started out one way with an elderly friend and then turned on her. Not just me. Be forewarned.

Treated me like I was an idiot and forgot things that were essential to my case. Seemed distracted and like he was looking right through me---a patient in a great deal of pain. Very uncaring attitude and rough in exam which I think someone dealing with pain should be conscious of. Did not go back. New rheumatologist is kind and understands/cares about pain.

Arrogant, that's all I can say

Dr. Spiegel is not a pleasant doctor to deal with especially if one is in pain. He was spoke to me rudely and was dismissive of my condition. Perhaps that can be attributed to a bad day except that it happened each time I saw him. When he prescribed a medication wrong I became very sick. I went back for my follow up appointment and his first question was about how things went with the medication he prescribed. He did not record my reaction to what was his mistake in dosage and he totally forgot how sick he had made me. I never returned.

Yes, I have received treatment from this doctor but will not return. I have never left a doctor visit feeling so degraded. I am an educated person and this arrogant physician tried to make me feel as if I were just plain stupid. There is no justification for such cruelty.

He is great

I visited Dr. Spiegel for the first time today. It is clear he draws on a substantial accumulation of experience while keeping abreast of current developments in Rheumatology. My take away from his demeanor and attention is this is a physician that is passionate about providing the best possible care for his patients.

Misdiagnosed. Arrogant and condescending. Doesn’t listen and is extremely closed minded.

Prescribed wrong dose of medication making me very ill. Did not know the starting dose. Very rude and arrogant man.

Not only did Dr. Spiegel prescribe a medication wrong and make me very ill--he did not record it in his notes and was surprised when I mentioned my telephone call relaying the details of what happened. He had forgotten all about how ill I became becuase he prescribed the medication wrong. In addition to this--he is rude, arrogant, impatient and a pompous person. I will never return. there are other far more competent and kind rheumatologists in the area.
