I previously had a colonoscopy from another gastroenterologist, who saw a stricture and said I needed to have it surgically removed. I hoped to avoid surgery, but after more than a year, my condition was getting worse. Because of his good reviews, I chose Dr. Stavinoah for a second opinion. He scheduled a colonoscopy. While still in recovery from what I thought had been a colonoscopy, Dr. Stavinoah told me there was no stricture, it looked fine and I didn’t need surgery. He didn’t schedule a follow-up appointment to go over results. It was later, when I read the lab report, I realized he didn’t do a colonoscopy, but a sigmoidoscopy. A month later, since I was still having the symptoms I originally saw him for, I scheduled a follow-up appointment. It was another month before I could see him again. At that time, he admitted he didn’t complete a colonoscopy because there was a “blockage” and it would risk perforation to go further. So, why did he tell me everything looked fine and I… didn’t need surgery?! He also openly disparaged my previous gastroenterologist, doubting whether he had actually completed a colonoscopy. By this time, things had gotten even worse and he scheduled a Barium Enema/X-ray. Seeing the results, he now said I should have the surgery. I returned to my original gastroenterologist, who recommended a surgeon, and I did have the surgery done.

I have all the confidence a patience could have in Dr. Stavinoha. He has been doing his job now for many years and it shows. He knows what is needed and does just that. I had a colonoscopy yesterday and it was the best that could be had of what many fear and view as less than desirable. It went well and he spoke with me afterward. Today I feel great and wish I had done a lot sooner. I would recommend him to anyone.

Love him. Always takes as much time as I need. he is a straight shooter and I trust him. Been with him 10 years and I don't want to change-ever.

I had been thru the wringer with Hep C when I met Dr. Stavinoha. He knows what he is doing trust me. Just make sure you tell him what is going on. He listens and he takes action. He is a no fuss doctor but that is what I need. I trust him and I am thankful I found him. And he is cute:)

Been going to Dr. Stavinoha for 16 years and wouldn't go to anyone else. I have the best two doctors there is with Dr. Stavinoha and Dr. Miro. I am a Crohn's disease patient and he is kind, considerate, compassionate and caring. If people say other wise it is because they don't understand his personality. Most of the people in my office go to him and also their families.
