Dr Miki Shirakawa Garcia

Dr. Garcia may well be a knowledgeable MD. But she doesn't really care much about her patients. If your insurance changes she'll drop you like a hot potato, inclusive of the fact that they can't/won't refer you to any other dermatologist for help. I guess I expect more from someone who participates in my health care.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Garcia for years and I love her. She’s always tried to offer me as many options as possible, she’ll even show you affordable and effective over the counter brands that can help (she’s literally pulled up Amazon on her computer to show me some great sunscreens, cleansers etc.). The staff has always been incredibly polite and accommodating (I actually think it’s gotten even better & better over the years), and she’s helped solve a lot of my skin issues. She has even squeezed in a few minor procedures during my appointment that I hadn’t originally scheduled. The office also offers an extensive line of high end treatments, but she’s never pushed them once! They’re there if you want them, but there is no pressure at all.

I highly recommend Dr. Garcia.

Have a reoccurring condition that requires attention. Had made an appointment. Was a returning patient. As always, made effort to make sure I was on time. Offered My insurance card of which the provider had changed. Was informed by the receptionist the Dr. does not accept that insurance. Was told that I could return when my medicare starts. I should be paid for my time. Either I wait for my Medicare to activate in 8 mos or find another Dr. Obviously if I find another Dr, why would I return to Dr. Garcia after being rejected. With some professions money is all that is important. Forget loyalty! Needless to say it made me very angry. Also, you think the Dr. might just give one a courtesy call ?

Bedside manner not the best, staff not the most welcoming but in and out quickly which we liked
