Dr. Mildred Chernofsky, MD

She was great a explaining, in detail, what she found, recommend ,and possible outcomes of the recommended procedure. Spent OVER and hour with me between her and her PA. Did a very gentle exam and answered sensitively to my concerns and questions.

This woman should not be treating cancer patients. Her methods are outdated and her patient manner is cold/ heartless. I will never go back to her again.

Dr. Chernofsky is one of the most compassionate, energetic and positive doctors I have known. She is thorough and takes the time to explain procedures, possible outcomes and answer all questions. Her medical skill, enthusiasm, personal warmth and concern for her patients show that she truly loves what she does! I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Dr Chernofsky is a great doctor I will recommend anyone to see herher she has done a fantastic job on me and I thank her so much for what she has done she is the greatest.

She spent more time with me than any other doctor. She made sure that I completely understood the cause, options and any procedures. I felt confident going into surgery and everything was as planned. After the surgery, she personally contacted me several times to check my progress in healing. Excellent work.

You could not find a more compassionate, caring, articulate doctor! She explained my situation, told me what procedure she recommended. She accommodated my schedule in scheduling the surgery. She spoke to me before the surgery, asked if I had any questions, chose a superb anesthesiologist. The whole experience was more excellent than anyone has the right to expect in having surgery.

Dr. Chernofsky is the most caring doctor I have ever had the experience to meet. She walked my through my cancer and made me feel whole again.

So my sister is in tears right now. After years of painful surgeries due to fibroids and endometriosis she had a hysterectomy last year but apparently part of the uterus was left due to damage and some issue related to one of her kidneys. Problems are back (less than a year ago) and Dr. Chernofsky came highly recommended. She had tests/procedure last Monday and a message was left for her to call the office. Given her medical history and a family history of terminal cancers, she called the office afraid and thinking that maybe the Dr had bad news for her. Apparently she made several calls and received a call from an annoyed, insensitive, and rude Dr. Chernofsky. She in turn cancelled her follow-up appointment and is now in tears not knowing the results of her test. In response to that I say shame on you. You are a gynecologic oncologist - PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE AFRAID - and people handle fear differently. I plan to report your behavior to anyone who will listen. A physician… should NEVER respond to a patient by asking "what do you want"? Even if you didn't have time to respond to her calls, a member of your staff could have called and explain that you make your return calls. Sympathy, Empathy, and Respect are important in your line of work.
