Dr. Mohammad Taghi Hashemi, MD

My mother broke her femur, and Dr. Hashemi was the on-call orthopedic surgeon. He did an excellent job on my 80-year-old mother leg. She is recovering greatly. His bedside manner was excellent as was his explanation of what he did to my mother to repair her femur. I will also add that the scars left behind have to really be looked for in order to be seen. My mom really likes Dr. Hashemi and is thankful he was her surgeon.

Rating for Dr. Hashemi is 4 for the broken bone surgery. Overall rating is 1. Outpatient instructions were for a broken leg; not my broken arm. When asked they said it was the same. Now how is being on crutches the same as a sling? No parking at the surgery center; only unsafe street parking. When asked they said we could park in the lot next door – except in that lot there was a sign stating which businesses could use it, otherwise subject to towing – Surgery Center not listed. For followup was given xray paperwork – wrong arm. Mine was an accident with a broken forearm and tendon damage to arm/hand. Told I should be able to make a fist in 6 weeks. Now 12 months with 10 months of physical therapy later, I have a crippled hand for the rest of my life. Think they only concentrated on the broken bone, not the overall injury. Also after 6 months, found that they had missed taking a stitch out of my arm which my PCP removed.

While Working at Trinity in Minot ND, I was one of his patients for hip replacement. He over reamed my hip socket. My leg bone went through my hip. I had to have complete hip reconstruction at Mayo Clinic in MN. I understand that from time to time complications happen but he lied in my post surgery reports saying everything was perfect when experts at the Mayo Clinic could plainly see from my post surgery X-rays the complication. His incompetence cost me months of pain and I now experience permanent reduction in leg function. I would not recommend this doctor.

My wife attended the appointment with me as I was expecting to be scheduled for 2 shoulder replacement surgeries, and she was interested in recovery time, etc. We went to him for a second opinion after being told a few weeks earlier that according to the x-rays, I would need both shoulders replaced due to advanced arthritis Due to my age, 76, as soon as possible for better chance of recovery. He checked my range of motion in both shoulders and asked pertinent questions regarding pain. He informed me that I did not need shoulder replacement, but only a cortisone shot in my right shoulder. He was friendly, professional, and looked me in the eye when speaking with me and answering my questions. I am not easily impressed but I walked out of the appointment trusting his decision. If I ever do need surgery, I would not hesitate for him to be the one to perform it.

My appointment was very informative and I felt secure with the information I was given. I felt so confident with Dr Hashemi that I chose him to be my surgeon for a Total knee replacement.
