Dr. Monica Kogan, MD

Dr. Kogan and her entire team are absolutely phenomenal. My son has now seen her over the last several years for 4 broken bones, the latest needing surgery. This bone and a previous fracture were both misdiagnosed in the ER and she quickly found the issue and setup a plan to get him on the path to recovery quickly. Her bedside manner cannot be beat and her reassuring nature made an otherwise scary situation much less intimidating. Each time he’s been seen, she’s personally called to check in on him and during surgery today I was contacted several times by her team with updates. She also understands my son’s athletic nature and does everything in her power to get him back to his activities safely and promptly. I can’t express my gratitude enough for the amazing care he has received and while we hope this is his last broken bone for a lifetime, I wouldn’t hesitate to see her again if the need arose.

Dr. Kogan is awesome. On the first visit, she engaged my 13 yo enough to make him look up from his cell phone, wow. She commented on his Miles Morales Spiderman shirt and jacket. She has been very responsive to our concerns, and responds with empathy. I my son breaks a bone again, I know where to go.

My 2 boys (ages 4 & 2) and I only know each other and only trust each other. When Dr. Kogan first saw my sons, she cried. I’ve met strangers that care, but not like Dr. Kogan. Dr. Kogan touched my children and played with them. I grew up in Alabama, where racism is a theme. Dr. Kogan’s actions mean a lot to me. I can’t do what she does, and I need her and have to trust her to be a good person. She made that easy just by touching my little boys. Imagine having to trust someone with your health who already doesn’t like you because of the color of your skin. Thank you Dr. Kogan ??????

Dr. Kogan was very engaged, listened to our concerns and responded with additional testing to further investigate the reasons for our sons complaints. Very personable!

Excellent and quick service awesome doctor

Could not be more impressed with Dr. Kogan. She has a wonderful way with kids, taking the time to put them at ease and explaining everything in a way they can understand. She is also a top-notch surgeon whose expertise I fully trust. I’ve taken my daughter to see her for several different orthopedic issues—from a fractured ankle to knee tendinitis to finger injury—and most recently for a scoliosis evaluation, and I’ve always felt that my daughter was in the best possible hands. The residents and staff are also very warm and knowledgeable, which is especially important when you’re dealing with kids. I would highly recommend Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Dr. Kogan for any pediatric orthopedic issue.

Dr. Kogan was great with my teen, she spoke to her directly and made her feel like her issues where more of a gift then a flaw. A++

Dr. Kogan took time with us and was patient. She didn't just tell us to look up information on the internet but explained to us about the diagnosis.

Dr. Kogan was great. My child was born with one leg longer than the other and spend an hour with us going over the diagnosis and treatment options. She was explained surgical and non surgical options at length and was aware that my child was there and did everything she could not to scare my child. Her staff was great and helped to make a stressful situation less stressful. We did go through with the surgery and she was always there to answer my phone calls and follow up. It is best to schedule with her secretary and call her secretary directly, however. The waiting room can be crowded, but when you are with her in the room, you realize she has your attention and doesn't rush through the visit.

We went to Dr. Kogan after seeing another doctor. Dr. Kogan explained to us in detail the disorder our daughter had, which the other doctor just gave us a piece of paper and told us to read it. Her clinic was packed, but we didn't feel rushed and she answered all of our questions.
