Dr. Newsha Zahra Ghodsi, MD

Dr.Ghodsi ignored my relevant test results, including my lipid tests, genetic tests, inflammatory marker tests, and calcium score test. She also ignored standard medical prescribing guidelines which indicate that statins are medically appropriate for people who have an ASCVD risk over 10% plus LDL over 190. My ASCVD risk was 2.7%. I reduced my LDL from 156 to 95 in 6 months by making changes in my diet, without any medications . My CAC score was 1. I had 0-19% plaque in my carotid arteries, which studies show to be normal for the overwhelming majority of people my age. I have no history of CVD events. My BP has always been normal. I was never a smoker. I am not diabetic and I am not obese. My inflammatory markers are normal. Nonetheless, Dr.Ghodsi strongly and repeatedly pressured me to take Crestor, which was medically both unnecessary and counter-indicated based on another existing condition and my genetic test results. Within days on a very low dose, I experienced myriad,… significant side effects. According to Pro Publica's database, Dr.Ghodsi has a history of receiving payments from pharmaceutical companies. I read the relevant science and medical guidelines, and have switched to a cardiologist who uses science-based treatment, follows standard medical treatment guidelines, reviews all test results carefully, and does not accept money from pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Ghodsi is the best cardiologist I have ever known . She is extremely knowledgeable professional and very friendly. She carefully listens to her patients and answers all the questions patiently. She provides her patients extraordinary service . Her office is extremely organized and her staff provides the best service. I highly recommend her to my friends and family.

Not knowledgeable. Uptight. Zero compassion. Untrustworthy. Has seemed like seeing me was a chore during all appointments and always forgets I’ve been there before. Long wait to get an appointment. Medical assistants are a joke.

Dr ghodsi is absolutely the best cardiologist in the country. She is knowledgeable and caring. Not only great with the heart but notices other potential problems. She is readily available and overall a great human being. If you are looking for the best you have found her.

Dr. Newsha Ghodsi is the most knowledgeable cardiologist beside her amazing knowledge she is the kindest toward her patients she listens and takes her time to answer each question no matter what. She is extremely patient she has everything you need about a perfect doctor. There are no words to explain her she is everything any patient love to see in her/his doctor besides her amazing knowledge. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for the best cardiologist in NYC.

dr ghodshi is a caring physician, but her staff leaves something to be desired.

Excellent doctor, very thorough, professional , and very smart. Cares a lot for her patients but strict dealing with non-compliant and stubborn patients. Will be lectured for sure, that’s me for real.
