Dr. Norman Weinzweig, MD

I had a traumatic injury to my left hand from a table saw. I lost two fingers and parts of two others as well as breaking several bones in my hand. Dr. Weinzweig came in to do my surgery at 1am! he was able to re-attach my two partial amputations and save those two fingers. My occupational therapist has been doing this for 35 years and was thoroughly impressed with the surgery and recovery results. He and his staff have been very kind and helpful for this entire 10 month process including returning my calls from his home when he was not even working. I could not have asked for a better surgeon or experience!

he hardly offered any good advice on how to expedite my healing process. i would ask him questions and he wouldnt really advocate one direction or another. after a while i felt he wasnt really interested in helping me get better quicker. when taking out my stitches he forgot one that i later had to pull myself. i wouldn't recommend this doc...i think he just wants to get as many people in and out as possible.

Broken finger, surgeon put pins in- This doctor's surgery skill is average at best. My pins kept falling out, but the real problems began in the follow up care. They have a physical therapist in the office, and their office is not very easy to get to. Especially if you live or work in the chicagoland suburbs. If you are working and trying to go to physical therapy at the same time do not even bother with them. They would rather you just quit your job it is more convenient for them.(unbelievable, huh?) They also try to drag out your therapy sessions for the money. The worst part has to be their receptionist, she is not very nice at all a real "witch." My over all experience was extremely poor and I would not recommend this doctor and especially his staff, to anyone I know.
