Dr. Noshir A DaCosta, MD

Dr Dacosta is the "doctor's doctor". Meaning I am a physician and I see him for my cancer. He is a genius, and even my surgeon says he's the smartest person he knows. My next door neighbor and I were both diagnosed at the same time and we both see him for our treatment and we are both in love with him. He is so thorough, goes over EVERYTHING, thinks of everything. Reviews alternatives. So empathetic and understanding. Never rushes me. Calls you as soon as he gets results. Willing to think outside the box. I love how even though I'm a physician he still takes the time to really explain things to me, not assuming I just know what he's talking about since oncology is not my specialty. I also love that he will show me data and graphs to make sure I really understand things. Dr Dacosta is AMAZING.

Last late summer when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, treatment of this nature is a major challenge physically and emotionally. I had to choose an oncologist quick to start my treatment. I had three choices but with a friend's recommendation I chose Dr. Dacosta, whom I not only see him as a doctor but a great support. Dr. DaCosta had the empathy to get me through the initial shock, he carefully made adjustments when the initial treatments had some side effects for me, and he followed the science. He was able to successfully fight for me to have the very latest in immunotherapy which made all the difference in my treatment program. He explained the situations clearly every step of the way and took the time even when we had lots of questions. He was very encouraging and always kept us well informed. The staff at the NYCBS was wonderful and very caring. They all helped us get through a very difficult and sometimes overwhelming situation together. Dr. DaCosta was recommended to… us through a friend and we would highly recommend him to anyone as well. He is simply the best!

Dr. Da Costa is hands down, the best Doctor one can ever hope for!!! Bedside manner is unparalleled. My wife has been a patient of his since 2006. He has encouraged her throughout and , with his help, she overcame her latest ordeal with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Wheras other Doctors had glossed over that what she had was merely inflammation, Dr. Da Costa saw that it was cancer and proceeded to treat her with Cyberknife radiation as well as Faslodex. Her most recent prognosis is that the cancer has disappeared. No doubt that he saved her life!

Dr. DaCosta, he listens, he cares, he is thorough, he follows up and tells it like it is. All this and is the most pleasant Dr. I've been treated by.

I don't have the words to express how grateful I am for Doctor Noshir Dacosta. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31 and with Doctor Dacosta's medical care, kindness and understanding, I am now 48 and completely cancer free. The office staff is also wonderful. Dr. Dacosta is one of the finest human beings I have met. He came to me in the hospital as if an angel sent him. And I biased, you bet I am. He saved my life with the help of the other great people working at NSHOA. He is kind, modest and very smart. He was telling me answers to my problems before I even knew I had them. He is to the point, he doesn't beat around the bush. We discussed all the possibilities, good and bad about my pancreatic cancer. The treatment he gave to me worked like a miracle.
