Dr. Orrin Devinsky is very kind, useful and very good explaining things. With the high knowledge he has he's able to help very well. A very acceptional epileptologist. Always on time and there for emergency.

Do yourself favor and avoid Orrin Devinsky. His office and staff are unprofessional, rude, disorganized and provide extremely poor care. They also engage in improper billing practices. Orrin Devinsky is unavailable to patients and often pawns them off to incompetent underlings. He does not spend an appropriate time with patients if in fact you get any face time with him at all, but still charges even if he was not the doctor seen. He shows no concern for patient care. Beware.

He helped me the most throughout the years I've seen him. I don't know who is as good. Every doctor acts different.

Daniel Friedman, Orrin Devinsky and Siddhartha Nadkarni are all under investigation by the Insurance Commissioner of NY for financial fraud. This investigation was referred by the Attorney General’s Office division of fraud after review by two fraud investigators. There are currently several active investigations involving unlawful conduct in the part of Orrin Devinsky.

This doctor provided improper care and engaged in fraudulent billing practices.

Dr. Devinsky is an excellent physician. He is incredibly knowledgeable and spends time addressing all my questions. He is a leader in his field and very successful. He is humble and caring. I highly recommend him.

Like many have noted below, Orrin Devinsky is essentially unavailable to patients. He spends very little time with you, and passes you on to someone else. During your visit with that other doctor, Devinsky may or may not be pulled in for literally 30 seconds and then charges you for a visit as well! In my case, he and two other doctors Daniel Friedman and Siddhartha Nadkarni were engaged in a fraud scheme to double bill. Nadkarni and Devinsky did not take UHC at that time yet submitted payment after being paid in full to an insurance they did not take. They banked on UHC sending payments in error, which they did. UHC had to pull back money from Orrin Devinsky, Daniel Friedman and Siddhartha Nadkarni for financial fraud. Worse they had the audacity to resubmit for payment (even after having money pulled back) multiple times! I had my receipts to prove this and in addition to other violations of law, hired an attorney who determined that that office over 3 1/2 years fraudulently… billed 66% of the time! This info was forwarded to the Health Department (OPMC) in connection to the two opened investigations for Siddhartha Nadkarni for illegal prescription practices, financial fraud, negligent care, and malicious retaliation. My experience was deeply troubling and disturbing. Orrin Devinsky is an embarrassment to his field.

Saw Dr. Devinsky in the past. Now with Dr. Mehta - his protege - young, more dynamic and spends more time with me than Dr. Devinsky did. I live in Toms River and was going up to Livingston twice a year to see Dr. Devinsky for my seizrues. I had a breakthrough seizure about 2 years ago - trying to get to Dr. D quickly was a nightmare. Found out that there is Dr. Mehta in Toms River who is an epileptologist - did his training at NYU as Dr. Devinsky's fellow. Dr. Mehta is AMAZING! Very knowledgable, very personal and does not have a PA - he sees me, he admitted me to the hospital, he changed my meds that Dr. Devinsky originally put me on. I'm so much less tired now, have been seizrure free for 2 years. While Dr. Devinsky is amazing - Dr. Mehta is even better, just not as well known. I'm so comfortable. I know Dr. Mehta is the best as he was personally trained by Dr. Devinsky.
